Red Shirts warned against getting near rally site

BANGKOK, Nov 17 – Pro-government leaders announced today that Red Shirt activists will not stage any gathering during an anti-government rally organized by the Pitak Siam group on Nov 24.

Thida Thavornseth, leader of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), said the Pitak Siam movement is not strong enough to topple the government, but the situation would worsen if Red Shirt activists moved to confront Pitak Siam.

Red Shirt supporters who contemplate any movement must consult three core leaders, she said. In addition to Mrs Thida, Jatuporn Prompan and Nattawut Saikua are two other top leaders.

She called on Red Shirts to refrain from any movement or confrontation which will endanger the government’s stability.

Mr Jatuporn said he received a report that anti-government activists will mass produce 5,000 red shirts so that some of the demonstrators will disguise as red shirts and mingle with the crowd.

This alleged action is intended to create misunderstanding and unrest which will lead to confrontation with police, he said, discouraging Red Shirt activists from travelling to areas near parliament, the Royal Plaza and Government House. (MCOT online news)

Hopefully, the Red Shirts have calmed down since then.

"Kattiya quoted Thaksin as saying that those who did not want to fight on should go home".

Wow, this man is courageous! Maybe I have him all wrong ?cheesy.gif

Ah, Jatuporn, the only living creature walking on its hind legs which is able to make statements without using a single brain cell. Dressing up as a "red shirt" and joining an anti-government demonstration is about the most stupid idea one can come up with.

edit: grammar

Can someone give me a breakdown on who's red shirt and who's yellow and what a Pitak is?

The red shirts support Thaksin and his governments. The yellow shirts are anti-Thaksin.

I don't doubt the reds will be interspersed with the demonstrators.

oh stop, you've already said that if there is violence from PS it will be because thaksin hired them

you've basically said that if there is any wrongdoing seen from PS in the future that it's thaksins fault and doing, there's no point in trying to reason with people so off the charts in their bias.

Red Shirts are pro democracy, and are the enforcement arm of the PT Government, and Thaksin. China had the Red Guard, Cambodia has the Kamer Rogue, Germamy had the Brown shirts, and USA has the IRS. No difference. ph34r.png

What would be the point of having people dressed in red shirts spread through the crowd?

If there are red shirts (real or fake) in the crowd causing trouble, beat them up or get them arrested. If there are yellow shirts in the crowd causing trouble, beat them up or get them arrested.

edit: typo

If their are yellow shirts in the crowd ...

Umm..the crowd are yellow shirts. Did you not see the list of speakers from retard rally 1?

Besides the typo, you snipped the important part of the quote.

Ahh the mysterious fake reds - Perhaps there will be some fake yellows in the crowds, put there by the real reds to mirror the unrest to be instigated by the fake reds who were put in the crowds by the real yellows (one assumes?). That way both sides will be both innocent and guilty at the same time and therefore both eligible for any amnesty should be required?

Thai political logic at its finest

Alternatively these mass produced red shirts could just be Thai Manchester United supporters off to watch a game after the protest.

Another harbinger back to the above situation of disagreements within the Red Shirt leadership is Red Shirt Leader and Pheu Thai Party MP Worachai has said Red Shirts will amass in three different areas surrounding Bangkok in reaction to the Pitak Siam rally and will enter the city if there are any incidents at the rally..

He also stated a fourth group of Red Shirts will rally inside Bangkok in the Wong Wian Yai district.

I'm sure, that with 50,000 of Chalermapong's finest constables on the beat, that any miscreants will be detained and identified.

red shirts are pro red democracy which does not resemble real democracy.

One side promotes elections while the other is calling for a military coup to overthrow the elected government followed by a 5 year cessation to them.

Ummm...which one is pro-democracy??????????????????????????????

Now, now lets stay on topic. Origional post stated the red shirts are pro democracy...Nothing about another side as you state.

As I said the red shirts are pro red democracy which does not resemble real democracy. I will throw in that the red shirts are anti free speach which is also not pro democracy.

Promotes elections? cheesy.gif

All that destruction, death, mayhem, burning, vandalisation in Bangkok, was all just a bit of election promotion.

Right along with burning down city halls in the provinces just for good measure and extra election promotion.

Excuse me why do you have a question mark followed by a childish horizontal laughing man after a statement. If you really think PT & reds don't like elections you have got the wrong end of the stick. Why wouldn't they promote elections when they are up against a detestable, perennial loser?

Pitak Siam (Protect Siam) is led by Boonlert Kaewprasit whos stated aim is to overthrow the PT government by any means, and freeze the country for 5 years, and Sondhi Linthongkul, a convicted fraudster. Pitak Siam is supported by the 'Peoples Alliance for Democracy' (yellow shirts), the 'Network of Monarchy Protection Volunteers' led by Boworn Yasinthorn and others. The Democrat Party claim their not involved, but heavly advertise PT rallies on their satellite TV station 'Blue Sky'. At the October PT rally a group from the Communist Party of Thailand attended.

Those strange voices in Jatuporns head are baying at the moon again, he hasn't any idea what is true any more, poor man.
