I keep seeing an ad on this site about a, gauranteed retirement visa with no funds. They say they supply the paper work for the funding etc.

Has anyone used this service?

I am thinking of applying for a retirement visa myself .I have the funds but would prefer not to tie them up with my thai bank.

Thanks for any help.

I would be very careful when using one of those services. There have been reports by people that have used them and had no problem.

My concern would be if Immigration learned about what was going on and canceled your extension of stay (it is not a visa) or even worse.

You can use the funds in the account with 800K in it during the year and then top it up 90 days (60 for first extension) before you plan on doing your extension. If you have income of 65K per month that is the other option you have or if your income is not enough you can use a deposit in bank account to make up the difference.

Dodgy at best. Illegal at worst.thumbsup.gif

Personally wouldn't use them.

But if dodgy, or possibly illegal, how do they get approval to advertise here on Thai Visa ?

This is my opinion only:

If you get a retirement extension without actually meeting the financial requirements

income based

bank account seasoned as per the rules

combination (no seasoning needed)

there really isn't any ambiguity. That is illegal. How is that not illegal?

So I would describe participating in such schemes as dodgy AND illegal.

That doesn't mean that many people don't use such services and get away with it but I think people should be clear about what they are involving themselves with.
