Well, gag if you like, but this is in fact exactly what he’s doing. Trump’s approval rating is around 30 percent, and in a fair election this November Democrats will take the House and probably the Senate, which means investigations into Trump’s unprecedented corruption. His only chance at avoiding that is to suppress the vote, through the legislation he wants to push through, restricting mail-in ballots, sending armed ICE agents to polling places, and so on. You can read about these things in any number of legitimate news outlets. As for the suit from Newsmax going on about Nicolle Wallace, I think the point is that Trump spends upward of 70 percent of his time focused on these vanity projects. This is not only not normal, but detrimental to the functioning of the country. I watched Nicolle Wallace yesterday, and she was speaking with a couple of army generals about the Iran war and why it has become a quagmire. That seems like relevant reporting, doesn’t it? Of course you’re not going to believe any of this, because you have it in your mind that the mainstream media constantly lies and so can’t be trusted. But maybe try to reconsider. In 2016 when Trump first won the presidency, my big sister, who’s nearly as liberal as I am, told me to take it slowly, that maybe Trump’s election was indicative of some itch or vague desire among the general population (though still a minority; Clinton won the popular vote), and that we should let this play out its course, that it may lead to something positive. But by now, of course, it’s plainly obvious that Trump is nothing but grift and outsize ego, as more and more people who have voted for him are discovering.
