Suspect arrested in recent British drugging and robbery case at South Pattaya Hotel

PATTAYA:--In a combined effort involving Pattaya’s Tourist Police and Chantaburi Immigration Police, the woman accused of drugging and robbing a 69 year old British man at a Hotel Room in South Pattaya on 15th November, has now been arrested.

Since the incident the Pattaya Tourist Police have taken the lead in the investigation and determined the suspect, Khun Jidapar aged 48, had stolen 60,000 Baht from the hotel room of Mr. Alan Basham on 15th November after the pair met on Pattaya Beach in front of Soi 12.

Police Colonel Prapot, Superintendent of Tourist Police Region 4, held a press conference at the Pattaya Tourist Police Station early on Thursday Morning to announce the arrest of Khun Jidapar who was stopped at the Cambodian Border by Immigration Police. It was determined she visited Cambodia on a regular basis and was suspected of visiting Casino’s at the border on every visit. This was confirmed by the suspect who claimed she had run up a debt at one of the Cambodian Casino’s and intended to use the money taken from Mr. Basham to repay her gambling debt.

Pattaya: Beach Road Hooker caught leaving the country with stolen goods

Despite continued advise to tourists to avoid the charms of the habitual hookers that inhabit Beach Road after dusk, it seems that every week, another falls prey to their evil ways. Police have made every effort to clear the area, installing bright lights and CCTV, but still they come, and a steady stream of single men walk the area, with the look of mesmerised rabbits caught in car headlights.

This week it was the turn of an Englishman, Alan E Basham ( name per translation from Thai reports) to taste the less than enjoyable pleasures of a trickster, as he engaged 48 year old Mis Jidapa in a conversation which lead to their walking to his room in a Pattaya second road Hotel as a couple.

Arm in arm, they purchase a couple of coffees and 2 bottles of Baccardi breezers on the way and slipped quietly and quickly into his rented abode where, at her insistence, he went to have a shower.

Returning to the Bedroom she slipped him a little something in his drink and the sum of his nocturnal adventure was a night of uncontrollable sleep, caused by drugs, from which he only awoke when Hotel staff came to check that he was OK.

Is it really possible for a Thai, to run up a debt in a casino in Cambodia? Do they actually give credit, or maybe they just know where her family lives, and that will be enough to convince her to pay?

Yes, they do because they are mainly owned by Thai gangsters and politicians who will send enforcers to the homes of their bad debtors. On the road to the border you can see fleets of vans provided by the casinos ferrying the Thai suckers over there. You can be sure they know who their customers are.

The police acted quickly and made an arrest of the lady before she got over the border. I'm not convinced that some British police forces would have achieved this these days. So well done.

penny wise pound foolish ..she is not exactly a top notcher ...though she would be a glam compared to where he comes from ..this drugging is getting over the top ....apparently even after waking up ...it can cause serious health probs ...if it happened in us or uk ...i wonder if the charge would be attempted murder ?????
