I just came to our Village in Buriram, where we have 7Mbit TOT ADSL. I checked some pings and traceroute to some europe sites, wondering if they had new POP connections or not (last time, they only had connections to USA and Asia, removed all Europe connections).

I get much better ping and direct connection to Europe now. Then I checked TOT IIG Map.

They have new POP and link peerings in Europe. They also increased their international bandwidth to all locations.

I'm sure British folks would be very happy after having 10Gbit Linx (London internet exchange) peering, which should provide smoother than butter streaming videos from their homeland.

I get 299 ms to Betamax VOIP (compared to 410 ms recently and 310-330 ms before TOT removed Europe connections) which is kind of nice.

Interesting. As you say a link like that to the UK should allow for decent streaming from BBC iPlayer, which is not really possible via Sophon/CAT.
