Thai Red Shirt M P Jailed After Bail Revoked

I think the law here is so devoid of actual law it is laughable. Anyone accused of terrorism, even this goose, should be enough to remove them/him from an MP status, who cares if he is or has been convicted - and it should be until 'further notice' with pay suspension and as well as all benefits. Given bail? Only in Thailand...

The current bunch of "lawmakers" won't fix that. They'd rival Klong Prem for the number of convictions

Actually the law here is full of law. Unfortunately the arbitrary application (read enforcement) generally renders the laws devoid of any justice. But I think we basically agree.

Why can't they just suspend the law that gives sitting Politician's immunity from prosecution whilst Parliament is in session? It's not like they are real busy at the moment, they would have plenty of time to appear in Court + do the things a Politician does.

No one wants to be the first to stop the goose from laying the golden egg for the mp's. This is the trouble, they are all guilty of being there for their own benefit, its time to get mp's that want to see the country grow, not their bank account. I doubt anything will change as long as most thais see it as their right to make money fraudulently with bribes, it is too ingound in them. As for the law, mp's treat it as a joke and do whatever they please, if the law gets in their way they change it, should be one law for everyone.

If the 'lawmakers' would do these two things in the service of their country, then Thailand would make leaps and bounds towards true, uncorrupt democracy. Simple really!

If the so called law makers abided by the current laws and didn't try to make more laws that suit only themselves, that would be a major step forward.

Other than the 300 baht a day, what law has this government changed?

That isn't a law.

And I did say try to change, i.e. trying to change the constitution so that Dear Leader can return to the place that he loves so much, as opposed to trying to make life better for the people that vote for them.

Anyone who thinks that Big T and the rest of his clan are 'for the people' is sadly deluded.

If Big T did return to rule, then he would surely make life better for the poor as he was trying before.

<snip posts>If Big T did return to rule, then he would surely make life better for the poor as he was trying before.

Isn't that exactly what his kid sister Yingluck and her Puea Thai Party are presently doing, looking after the future of Thailand's poor and disenfranchised?

Big T rules through his family from his luxury suite in Dubai and frankly I think he's more interested in blood diamonds, foreign investments and making millions of dollars etc than the hard lives of poor farmers and workers here in the kingdom.

""Right, right. So it's clear in your mind that if you go back, it'll be better for Thailand than if you don't go back?"

"Definitely. If I were to go back successfully, you know, the people who are fighting against me now will not be fighting. And if I go back, and if I do not take revenge, and if I forgive everyone, those who don't like me will start to feel more at ease.""

Not really, get out the spray can of glitter, tell them that they are now so much better off than they were before and leave them standing at the gate to the shack wai-ing while he trundles off with a suitcase of cash.

This is one thing that really gets to me about this red/yellow split.... it doesn't matter one jot about any Thai politicians particular favourite colour, none of them care about the general populous (there may be a couple, but they are the exception)

Take Thaksin, Abhisit, Yingluck, Suthep, Chalerm (especially Chalerm) Jatuporn, Thida, Weng, Korkeaw....... stick them in a field with some rice and a few chickens and tell them to fend for themselves, if they manage to live for more than a week, tell them the chickens were only on loan and they still need to pay for them.

Survivors - Zero.

Two things this country must do if it is ever to get the MP's working for this nation and not putting their hands in the treasuries till.

1. Get rid of the ridiculous defamation laws where if someone makes a truthful factual statement about someone else, they can face criminal charges. It is unbelievably stupid and designed to safeguard the wealthy only.

2. Get rid of parliamentary immunity for MP's facing criminal charges.

If the 'lawmakers' would do these two things in the service of their country, then Thailand would make leaps and bounds towards true, uncorrupt democracy. Simple really!

Clearly wouldn't include the reds who have zero idea of what constitutes the truth.

Well he would have been lining his chauffeur's pockets for helping out with a little money laundering and maybe he would up the 500 baht payout for attendees to provide cannon fodder for violent demonstrations, though does he actually need to come back for this?

I have to disagree with this. I think it's incorrect to put a colour on people who disagree with what others see as truth or what their idea is of what is the truth.

Mind you, skipping colours a black or white situation is much more easy on the mind smile.png

So - I guess he'll be out on Bail Monday, pending appeals of his bail revocation...

I would think so with the Yingluck government putting up the bail money from the tax payers of course.

Why shouldn't they he's not convicted yet? Even under a legal system that is a mockery to the rest of the civilized world.

Because, Brian, he violated the bail he was on by threatening judges. Serious in anyone's court.

In two words he is more interested in

Power and Revenge.

This newly unbailed mouthpiece, who's name begins with K,

is just one of his levers of control and allows him to create and keep in line a power segment as part of his over all plan. Incite and reign in incite and reign in, but keep them on edge and hungry for red meat to gnaw on.

Both go to repairing his 'Lost Face', that he is so obsesive about repairing,

and building bigger than anyone elses. If he has to bring along some of the rural poor to use as 'a lever of control', he has no obvious qualms about that, as long as it works and he retains power over them.
