Where Can I Get Wholesale Marzipan? (Almond Paste)

Hi, I've seen small, expensive blocks of marzipan in Villa, but does anyone know where I can get it wholesale?

Oh I know I could make it myself - and have done in the past - but it's a lot of hassle for the quantity I need!

Bakery Supplies shops sell in 1 kg packs... seen it in a number of there different shops over the years + loads of other items in 1 kg packs..

It is probably easier to find here and cheaper than the Marzipan.

"Yok" also carries it in large supplies. Gotta live in Chiang Mai though.

Ignis, great - can you tell me which shops? The two in Bangkok that I regularly order from don't have it! (One stop bakery and Bakeryland)

SteeleJoe and MrRed - yep - it's mentioned, bought and sold a lot more often than marzipan... maybe I could try substitution??

If you are in the UK, try to get in contact with a producer or wholesaler in Lübeck, Germany, where marzipan originated and remains a big business. Niederegger perhaps. They have been around for two centuries. No problem to mail any quantity you want to UK, I reckon.
