My husband and I are coming to Bangkok for IVF treatment and have narrowed down choices to Samitivej Sukhumvit or Jetanin. Any advice to help us decide between the two would be much appreciated.

We are looking for advice related to personal experiences, quality of care, customer service, cost, location and of course, outcome.

There has been good feedback on thsi forum about Jetanin and I believe costs there will be a little less than at Samitivej.

Jetanin is a specialist ivf clinic (certainly the most famous in Thailand) with many doctors (though the founder is the best known) and i understand standards of English (staff and doctors) vary.Much of the client base is local .Very popular and so very busy ie potential for long waiting times and maybe a little impersonal. You may also want to consider Superior Art which is an offshoot from Jetanin focused on overseas clients and there should be no language issues and much less busy (more expensive?) . They both share labs and some doctors.

Samitivej ivf is obviously a clinic within a large general hospital where i believe the lead doctor has quite a good reputation.However BNH and Bumrungrad have better reputations (than Samitivej) amongst the main international hospitals for ivf. FWIW i would also have a look at Navabutr which is a private ivf clinic started by the lead doctors from the fertility team at Chulalongkorn. Costs likely to be lower than the others but also very busy and could be language issues (staff rather than the doctors).

Best to visit your short list and see what you feel comfortable with.

you also asked about location. Jetanin is very central being located on soi Chidlom behind the Central Chidlom department store about a 5/6 minute walk from the skytrain Chidlom station. Its Superior ART offshoot is close by on Wireless Road just behind the British Embassy a 5 minute walk from Ploenchit skytrain station. Samitivej is a little less centrally located on Sukhumvit soi 49 close to Thong Lor not far from the Emporium department store.
