It's the perfect illustration of the "thai deference".

He was just fresh elected, so the judges were too... shy to condamn him. Too respectfull. And maybe carefull for their own life.

The problem with that attitude is that it turns in the same direction than the wind... Right now Thaksin is not "god" anymore. So the judges could be more courageous this time.

Careful, they're also aware that he's just raked in an appetizing huge load of crisp baht bills.
