Mercedes-Benz Star Drive Chiang Mai 2006 to Promote Tourism Up North

The Tourism Authority of Thailand and Mercedes-Benz held a press conference on the “Mercedes-Benz Star Drive Chiang Mai 2006” fair.

The TAT, together with Daimler Chrysler Thailand Company Limited, Chiang Mai City Municipal, and Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce, will organize Mercedes-Benz Star Drive Chiang Mai 2006. And for the first time, this event will be held outside Germany, and Thailand has the honor to host this international-level event. The fair will celebrate His Majesty the King’s 60th year of accession to the throne, and promote the tourism industry in this region. More than 70 new Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be displayed, and here, you will be able to witness different generations of genuine cars from 1938’s 170v Cabrilet to 1983’s 450SL.

The fair will be held between the 24th and the 26th of February in Chiang Mai Province. Participants will be able to drive Mercedes cars to various locations in Chiang Mai city, and the caravan of automobiles will drive along the beautiful Ta Pae (ท่าแพ) Road on February 26th. Information and interesting facts on classic cars will also be available at the show.

This event will be held, following the celebration of 100th anniversary of Mercedes Benz vehicles in Thailand last year.

The Mercedes-Benz Star Drive Chiang Mai 2006 is a special event for the automobile community as well as the tourism industry. The event will also celebrate His Majesty’s 60th year of accession to the throne.
