Visit the Ancient City of Ayutthaya Province

The province of Ayutthaya (อยุธยา) has announced that it is ready to support the increasing number of tourists who will visit the province. Ayutthaya province has opened a new marine tourism route so tourists would be able to get in touch with the locals’ ways of life between both river banks.

Ayutthaya province is an ancient city and it was once the capital of Thailand. Presently, the province has become the country’s beautiful tourist site. Clearly, signs of ingenuity and great capabilities of the kingdom’s ancestors are clearly visible for the general public to admire. The locals of Ayutthaya in ancient times had brought about prosperity in cultural arts and national security as well.

Tourist destinations in Ayutthaya are mostly historical sites such as temples and palaces, which are situated around the city area like an island. Traditions of the Thai people here are also being preserved and respected by the younger generataions, as there are still many evidences of the past in this province. The World’s Heritage Committee of UNESCO has also decided to identify Ayutthaya province as one of the world’s heritage, and all the Thai people are proud for this province.

The Ayutthaya Provincial Governor, Mr. Somchai Chumrat (สมชาย ชุ่มรัตน์), asserted that the province is 100% ready to support the incoming tourists. He said that each year, the province has welcomed about three million tourists. Ayutthaya has convenient routes and road signs have been placed in many areas to help out the commuters.

Ayutthaya province has also offered a new marine tourism route so tourists would be able to get in touch with the locals’ ways of life and the natural beauty between both river banks.
