Sprained Ankle --> Swelling --> Rash

Featured Replies

I sprained my ankle 9 days ago when I fell walking down a mountain.

It swelled up. I rested it, strapped it up, used ice and elevated it.

Now the swelling is going down and the pain is a lot less.

I have developed a rash, which sort of looks like psioriasis, near the base of my toes and under my ankle bone. These are the 2 places the fluid drained down to.

Is this normal and will it go away in time?

Possibly but the compression bandage didn't go down to the base of the toes where the rash is worst. In my worst fears, it is gangrene and my foot is going to have to be amputated. I think I am imagining stuff.

Better try to find a dermatology-clinic or a hospital in your area. All hospitals have ER and usually

are very helpful. And not expensive too.

And do it today! - On Saturday clinics often are working from 9 to 12 a.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m.

Posting a picture might be helpful(?). In which part of TH do you live?

Good luck and get well soon. And don't forget: do it today...

Clinic and hospital not same, same.

If you feel like that id be in a hospital in no time, its only money and will give you peace of mind at the least a cure at best.

Looks like that.

Im no Dr but i doubt that could be gangrene. It look s just like a rash. But if you really are worried just let them check it out.

Yes, I am sure it will clear up in time.

Cheers

1. No or hardly at all.

2. None whatsoever.

Looks more like a contact dermatitis.. May be unrelated to the injury.
