There's a specialist shop on the main road outside BigC HangDong. It would be safest to park in BigC/HomePro and walk out to the 121 past a little plant shop. The water filter shop is right adjacent, about 25m east of the intersection with Hang Dong Rd.

English spoken and prices way better than the majors.

We just purchased one from Home Pro at Big C Extra. We bought one over 6 yrs ago, but moving in to a new house soon and bought this because it is on sale until 31 Dec. It's the MAZUMA RO PURE, originally 9,900 and we paid 7,990 which includes installation. We've dealt with the girl that works in that section for years. Her name is Auw (like awful). Her husband works for MAZUMA and they will come out and service the unit once a year at a discounted charge. They don't rip you off because they do that on the side job. There is a more expensive one, but I don't know if that is on sale, the wife didn't say anything about it. I think the most expensive one cost 11,900 baht and I think the only difference is that it has a warning light that comes on if there is a malfuntion somewhere.

Take a look at a U.F. filtration system, stops 99.9% of all bacteria and viruses, no power required, we only supply very large systems but sink units are avaliable, manufacturer is Sibel-Eberson the same people who make the water heaters.

Do any of them eliminate heavy metals? If you are drawing water to be filtered from under ground heavy metal contamination is your biggest problem in Thailand!

RO eliminates everything - heavy metals, pesticides, drug metabolites, viruses and bacteria. UV will only kill viruses and bacteria and is totally not necessary in a RO system. The most important item is a carbon prefilter to eliminate chlorine because chlorinated tap water will quickly destroy the semipermeable membrane. Post-treatment re-mineralization urns are inexpensive and widely available if desired to improve the taste of pure water and for those with the irrational fear that they will not get enough minerals.
