In the “Beauty of the Night Sky” category, “Total Solar Eclipse from Svalbard” taken in Norway by astronomy communicator and photographer Thanakrit Santikunaporn from Thailand stood out for technical excellence, showing the entire sequence of the March 20, 2015, eclipse from the Arctic on 78-degree north latitude. He was among the 10 winners of the seventh Earth & Sky Photo Contest this year.

I had hoped to get the sun going down to the horizon, but the darn clouds lowered....

From now on it's going to set more to the left each day.. my mission was to show different places over the horizon, during the last few months!

Ban Por Beach, Samui.

This was my favourite of the two images you posted on your own timeline yesterday. Loads of drama, and that break of blue on the right of frame makes it for me.

I could see potential in the sky as I headed out for my evening dog walk, so I took my camera along instead of the iPhone. As we walked the sky continued to change, moving left to right. I kept hoping the sun would really come under the clouds but the rain was too hard. It was raining up behind the reservoir you have been to.

I am an opportunistic hunter and shoot wildly. I then haul the prey home to butcher and trim the fat before cooking it up and preparing it to serve. I agree this was my best dish on this day.biggrin.png

Thank you Johntwo;

My old Nikon E4500 is broken and I regret it even it was an " only " 4 Mega Pixel one ;

I gave it to one of my nephew who is working in Japan ( french lecturer in an University ), so he can give it to friends of him who are studying in photography ; maybe it is in a museum ? cheesy.gif
