Greg Hi there Greg Sorry for the late reply fella!!! In answer to your question....well, kinda still in the farming game,but on a very,very small scale.We have about 550 (give or take the odd one) rubber trees,that should be able to produce their first harvest this year (not that it's worth much theses days).... With the rubber prices being so low,we tried to think of other uses for the land,so we build a couple of holding pens,and now the pigs are back on the scene again,but not raising them this time,just buying them in around the 80-100kg mark and then butchering them and selling them 'dressed' for parties and sometimes by the kilo,in town from our little shop and sometimes the Missus will sell to the surrounding villages from the back of the pickup.We did talk about having a go at raising some pigs on the land,but will have to wait until we can get a permanent water supply sorted.My Missus has also just started learning about how to grow mushrooms,at this time it will only be a small set up in the back garden,to see if she can do it.If it does work out then we plan to make some shroom huts in between some of the rubber trees.....early days yet though.Have also got a few catfish tanks (6) in the back yard,thankfully they were as good as empty when the water rationing hit our town,hopefully after the rains,we can stock them up again. As for advice....well my friend.I really don't think I am the best one to ask.....but there are plenty of experienced guys on this forum,who I am sure will be please to help you ,if they can........Been having some issues with my computer,just lately and so have not really got any pics on hand,just a couple that I took with my mobile.....and the quality is really pretty dismal.Good luck with your ventures!!! Ma,our youngest and the Missus,holding a little Buddha offering ceremony (hope it does bring some good luck!!!) Had roast chicken for tea,that evening.....well,I wasn't going to let it go to waste (sorry Buddha) Lazy buggers view....quite a comfy spot......apart from the ants like to use it also as a bridge,to cross from tree to tree. Lulu and Lala (kids choose the names),a couple of adopted strays,that stay at the farm.Friendly little ones! Some of the grunters. Me, trying my best not to go ass over tit in one of the fish tanks. (photo from last year) and a couple of pics from the noodle and cold drink shacks. Mainly for own consumption and a couple of sister in-laws with a little bit sold. The Sip Law has 650 bales ,they have come about 60 km ,at this time 1 bale is about 35 Baht . He was just parked up on the road ,as I left him , about 2 kg up the road was a police check point ,I think he was waiting for the police to go home then proceed on ,knowing he will get fined with a load like this , if the police stop him .
