We all know how difficult it can be for us farrangs to buy or lease an house, but what is the procedure like for a Thais that will buy a house from an financial institution? How is the actual transfer completed without the use of an public notary? Is it just a trip to the land departement and handing over an chashiers cheque after the names have been added on the chanot document? Are long waiting lines to be expected? any other things of interest?
