I go from Phuket to Vancouver every year for a Salmon & Halibut Trip to Port Hardy on the North Of Vancouver Island with a bunch of retired Calgary Oilmen. My preferred route although not the cheapest but quickest is. Phuket-Hongkong-Vancouver-Souel-Phuket 18 hrs Total There and about 22 hrs back Dragonair-AirCanada-Air Canada-Asiana. Around $5,000 Return Biz Class the longest part is the Air Canada HK to Vancouver and back to Souel and they have 777 fully flat beds so pretty comfortable. Good thing is apart from Phuket -Hong Kong its all Star Alliance which just adds airmiles onto my Thai Airways Gold Card. Enjoy Vancouver and the surrounding wonderful scenery.

Did you book the flights through a travel agent who used different airlines or arrange it your self

I have sent 3 emails to the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok and had 2 in return

All i want to know is if we take the necessary paperwork to the embassy can we apply for a visa for my wife at the embassy

All they have to do is send a email in return saying yes or no, which they have not done

I have had a quote for the land package of $22K AUD which i will not book and pay unless we have a visa for my wife

There are plenty of other holiday destinations where both of us will have no problems getting visas for

I am rapidly losing interest in having a holiday in Canada

Why dont you just check the website then print the forms and bring them completed to the embassy? My gf did it twice. Quite easy.

You can name a site, not an email address. Peter, are you going to Canada? Or has the visa proven to be too much of a problem? Don't try going to the USA, it's very difficult!

I think Peter gave up on Canada, and is thinking about S Korea.

I disagree on the USA. It’s simple. Have your paperwork in order. Smile. No problems.

Not if you're Thai... I'm a USA citizen, so I have no problem at all. My Thai fiancé, you should see the paperwork! It's crazy! And yes Peter, the flight is a very long one, actually two flights... It tends to wipe me out for a week or more. Plus there is the 15 hour time change (14 hour during daylight savings time), which doesn't help...
