Going by the 7 day before or 7 day after rule, and an early Valentines day here in Namsom, i was supposed to report on the 5th feb, and taking into account the 7 working days, the latest would be 12th, in the meantime i developed a tooth abcess, and didnt want to go/travel ect, Mrs went on the 12th, to Udon immi, the officer said im on overstay and she would have to pay, Mrs retorted, Yes, and all the times we were early and my Husband donated towards your new Immi offices and you want him to pay more?? she got the paper clipped in free, She must have unsettled them a bit, They rang the next day for my PP number, [they forgot to take it}

It pays to stand your ground on issues like this,

I do not know if I am going to cry or laugh.. But is this american view of life or what? So by that reasoning you should have at least 1 "jailfreecard" when you rob the bank in the USA. Reason being that you haven´t done it before when you had the chance....

You are not being "paid" in life when you are "early" for your immigration-visits... The word "early" in that sence does not exist, the word "early" is the same as "in time".. You should know this being here for such a long time obviously. You people are amazing!!!!

The rule is 15 days before until 7 days after. It's days, not "working" days, so you were late and the 2000 baht fine was applicable!

As said you were most likely lucky rather than right as zero is not start day for any immigration counts so 5 Feb would likely have been day 1 of the seven day count. When we say one week (7 days Sun-Sat do we really mean until the end of Sunday of the next week)?

Wouldn't it just have been easier to send the Mrs. during that 22 day window for reporting? That's what Hubby does for his 90-day reports. No need to go in person, no need for the Mrs. to tell a sob story about your health problems and sure isn't a need for the Mrs. to alienate Immigration officers by claiming you're due special privilege because you've "donated" to their office in the past.

In fairness to poster it appears he was expecting to recover and be able to make report and that he counted day one as zero which is a common mistake. Yes he could have sent the wife but suspect most wives would not be anxious to make that trip if not required.

Thankyou Lop3, over the last 2 years ive been in & out of hospitals for various problems, its not only the illness that has kept me at home, its the after effects of the medicine that scuppers me also, so wife has had to report for me many times, 6 months ago they asked mrs for a docs letter, saying i could not travel, luckily mrs had a dated pic on her phone of me having a lung drain catherta being inserted, so they were happy with that..

As for a "Donation" when Udon Immi re-opened at the airport, after 18months or so they annouced and shew pics of an old immi office in Udon town center, and were asking all and sundry if they would like to donate towards the new building, to which i gave 1kbht, ok.

Thankyou.
