webfact
POLITICS Chuwit's signs taken down The Nation BANGKOK: -- The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration yesterday had staff remove signs set up by Rak Prathet Thai MP Chuwit Kamolvisit apparently attacking the Democrat Party over irregularities in the new police station project. newsjs BMA City Clerk Ninnart Chalitanon said she ordered all district offices to remove all the signs immediately because only Bangkok governor election signs are allowed to be set up now. On Friday, Chuwit posted the signs - the same size as campaign banners of election candidates - at several spots around the city. Most were installed in front of the campaign signs of Democrat candidate Sukhumbhand Paribatra. Chuwit's signs said there was corruption behind the Bt5.5 billion project to build 396 new police stations nationwide. Construction of the stations was abandoned without any being finished. Chuwit said he made 2,000 signs to inform the public about irregularities behind the project. Pheu Thai alleged that former deputy prime minister Suthep Thaugsuban, a Democrat, was behind the irregularities as he changed the scheme to be a centralised project instead of dividing it into nine projects based in the nine police regions. But the Democrats say that Pheu Thai governor candidate Pongsapat Ponchareon was the man who was in charge of terms of reference for bidding on the project. Several Pheu Thai MPs yesterday declined to comment on Chuwit's signs, claiming it had nothing to do with their party. Democrat election campaign director Ong-art Klampaiboon said he did not care about Chuwit's signs. -- The Nation 2013-02-
Popular Post Siripon
I always thought the ex pimp Chuwit was working for Pheua Thai. His first job was to give Chalerm a reason (exposure of gambling dens) to sack the police chief appointed by the Democrats, Wichian, and his second was this contract to build the police stations. No evidence of corruption by Suthep but just throw some mud around, surely some will stick.
theajarn
...and I always thought the democrats had something against foreigners. Wasn't it Suthep who was saying we don't matter or that foreigners were too stupid to understand Thai politics? Under democrat rule the "Teacher's Council of Thailand" also increased its activities, extorting money from foreign teachers in dodgy testing regimes.

Seeing that Chuwit is apolitical and actively campaigned to be the opposition, I find that assertion to be just a poor excuse to divert attention away from corruption by the democrat party . He doesn't need their contacts or money as he's already rich from his prostitution business. Both parties hate him equally.

Perhaps he makes fast friends when it suits him but I dont think he has any allegiance to anything but himself. This is why he will never be a very successful politcal leader.

Looks from his signs very much like he is on the side of the Govt, signs which are attacking the opposition. If he is with the Govt then he lied right? Lied to get elected. Doesnt say much for being able to trust anything he says or does.

He will have a go at any party if it gets him noticed and more importantly gain him votes. He is the ultimate showman.

It's leader was never well disposed towards foreigners unless they were loaded and prepared to "invest". Haven't noticed any changes since his puppets took over from the other lot. Perhaps the one thing they all agree on! Too stupid to understand = don't believe the lies, bullshit and see the corruption. Wonder if anyone will ever start a Thai rak Farang party? Think my taxi driver has a sticker already :-) !

robblok
I am no red lover, and i see Chuwit as independent he attacks corruption everywhere. Sometimes the Reds sometimes the Democrats. Wish there was some real rule of law and corruption would really get punished. But then the people who are now in politics would not be interested in it as they could not steal and rob the country blind. I think there are verry few politicians not corrupt. I guess Korn and Abisit are among those, but many other democrats are as corrupt (if possible) as the reds.

Tatsujin
Actually, a Thai Rak Farang party might be a great idea. At least it would give the voters a 3rd choice at the polls which I know many would jump at. They don't trust or like either the Reds or the Yellows now and are looking for a (serious) alternative. Arkady
So Chuwit, who promised to fight corruption, is now angling to join the government with his poxy little party and become a deputy minister in a poxy little ministry. What a joke.
TPI
It's well known that the big "C" raided the casino's to drive the patrons to his Chonburi dens. K. Chuwit has never denied his past and I suppose he still has his fingers in the pie? That said, he has never failed, so far, to be called wrong on any corruption he has brought to public notice! Of course he's a little bent...
Robby nz
Little wonder Yingluck said yesterday she wouldn’t get involved in mudslinging apparently someone else was set up to do it for her, would imagine the signs were already made if not in place at that point. I thought it would be Tarit who would sling the dirt but apparently not. Still now the signs are being removed there is ample opportunity for the DSI to step in and continue the good work.
