I just want to ditch my detergent and household cleaners once and for all by making my own, but struggle to find good Bangkok sources of the following:

--- Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda): Sure, they have sodium bicarbonate in any supermarket. But I would like to buy a BIG quantity, and therefore was hoping to find something cheaper. I am fine with a 25 kg sac, which I understand is the standard wholesale / industry quantity. I would prefer high purity (food grade) as I also use it in my baths. I am sure there supplier to bakeries, but I do not know how to find them.

--- Magnesium sulphate (epsom salt): I got the 450 g from Vidhyasom Co Ltd from Good Karma, and later bought it from the supplier directly. It is THB 100 for 450 g. They do not want to give me any discount for large quantity. THB 100 for 450 g is actually expensive. I use 450 g in my bath every time 2-4x per week....

I have seen that there is another thread on this forum on epsom salt. I went to the pharmacy by Nana / Bully a while back - did not have anything.

--- Sodium tetraborate (borax). I can see there are info on this forum on where to find it in Chiang Mai, but I have not seen anything about Bangkok. I will use it for cleaning products only, so I am happy with industrial quality. I was hoping to find a 25 kg sac for a good price. Vidhayasom has sodium tetraborate, but analytical (lab) quality for 445 THB for 450 grams. There is no point for me in paying that price since I will use it for cleaning only.

I have written to all Thai / Bangkok suppliers listed on Alibaba for these products, but noone has responded.

I would be most grateful for any help.

It is disappointing that no one replied. I too am looking for Borax for my swimming pool, along with baking soda in bulk.

If you are having no success with emails on Alibaba, perhaps an email in Thai or a phone call in Thai could get better results.

Thanks for taking time. I had already read all the discussions you are referring to. I was also referring to Good Karma in my post, and am well aware of what they have. Similar with Vidhyasom. They tell me that they don´t have "regular" borax, just analytical/lab grade, which is very expensive, but I see people on this Forum claim that they have both. The World Chemical Group has branches in northern Thailand - not Bangkok - as far as I can tell.

Yes, it would help if I could speak Thai. I have sent my maid around in Bangkok, but so far no luck. Most of the Alibaba places are a bit outside Bangkok.
