Has any Thaivisa member any experience with TIB "Toyota Insurance Broker". I have recieved a renrewal quote from them which is approx 8.000 Bhat cheaper than my current Viriyah renewal quote. The benefits and cover seem to be about the same value so I am naturally a bit dubious about the company with such a low quote.

I would welcome any feed back, especially for any alternative good car insurance company with good reps all over Thailand.

I travel to the North on a regular basis so I need to feel comfortable that I can find a company rep near by if the dreaded accident happens.

Cheers

My Wife just bought a CRV and Viriya are the most expensive of the quotes we have received (by about 5000 baht on average).

I have heard that Viriya are excellent though, so maybe worth the extra if you were to have an accident. We chose Bangkok Insurance.

1. Viriya: 31,548.99B
2. Axa: 24,585.39B
3. Safety insurance 28,254.42B
4. Bangkok: 26,789.59B
5. Thaivivat: 26,303.89B

I have not so good experiences with Viriyah, so would far from call them excellent. But then again, there probably will be others with positive experiences with them.

I am confused by the OP's post (but since TV in all it's collective wisdom will not allow me to quote it) I have TIB and as a broker they have always represented Viriya insurance company to me. The TG has always insisted on Viriya since she says they are the largest and most represented in Thailand

I know that after the first year of "free" insurance I did not received a "no claims" bonus but that did kick in until the second and subsequent year renewals but was only around a thousand baht lower. I would suggest to the OP that he check with Viriya and the difference he is seeing might be do to the no claims bonus, nothing do to with TIB

check the insured value and what is covered, you may find much less than other company's

when i bought my truck, it came with insurance.

renewal was same amount as other company's but value was about 100 000 less than the other companies.

Personally i like AXA, english speaking staff, good service, reasonable prices.

The renewal notice that I recieved in the post from TIB do's not state which company is offering the cheaper insurance, it is obiviously not Viriaya as the quotes are approx 10.000 bhat different.

The first year with a new truck the company give free insurance provided via TIB.

The second year I reverted back to my usual insurer which was Viriaya. I had a claim so I lost any no claims bonus foer the following year

The third year I continues with Viriaya so the premium naturally increased.

Now the fourth year with a years no claims bonus, they are asking a higher rate than when the truck was 2 year old and of course of less value.

So I cannot see that TIB are representing Viriaya in this instance. Hence my request for info regarding TIB.

Anyway thanks for your comments.
