Could be a good signing for them. But i don't get it. He was released from the MLS team. But is playing on loan for the rest of the season? There has always been something about Boyd that only managers seem to see. For a while he wasn't getting a game at Rangers and people wondered why. Is it his training? Does he think because he can score goals he doesn't need to try? What happened at the MLS? Why was he released if thats true?

Kris Boyd set for Kilmarnock return

Striker Kris Boyd is to rejoin Kilmarnock seven years after leaving Rugby Park.

Kris Boyd scored 63 SPL goals in 153 games during his first spell with Kilmarnock

Boyd, 29, last played for Killie in 2006 but after spells at Rangers, Middlesbrough and most recently Portland Timbers, the 29-year-old is returning to the club where he started his career.

The former Scotland forward, who has agreed personal terms to play on loan for Kenny Shiels' side until the end of the season, will complete the move as long as he passes a medical.

Boyd is the Scottish Premier League's all-time leading scorers after a prolific decade with Kilmarnock and then Rangers and arrives as a free agent after being released by MLS outfit Portland.

"Personal terms have been agreed and we don't expect the medical to throw up any problems,'' Killie chairman Michael Johnston told BBC Scotland.

Kilmarnock face Aberdeen this weekend but Boyd is unlikely to be registered in time and will probably make his debut away at Hibernian next Wednesday.
