MJCM
I think they are all the same, but most of the free ones are delayed up till 15 Minutes. So if you want up to date rates, you need a subscription. (Bloomberg ??) Edit :*/ Spelling Edited February 25, 2013 by MJCM
CharlieH
Bangkokbank website is updated twice daily, ok for the average guy checking rates The rates you see on many internet sites are not the rates obtainable to the average person, they are generally trading rates, the banks show what you actually receive. Pib
While banks follow the FX markets as their primary rate setting guide the exchange rates they offer the customer will vary a little from bank to bank...like indicated in Lefty's above post. For example from looking at the latest Bangkok Bank, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), and Kasikorn Bank rates as of a few minutes ago, their USD TT Buying Rate was 29.71, 29.73, and 29.72, respectively. Now if you look up the rates later they may change but it is around 6pm so they probably won't change again until tomorrow morning. The TT Buying Rate is what they provide for wire transfers. And of course the exchange rate can change numerous times during the day...all depends on how the world FX markets are varying during the day. To the best of my knowledge the TT Buying Rate that ThaiVisa displays under the menu MORE, THAI BAHT RATES, is referenced to the exchange rate offered by Bangkok Bank.
