Kendo In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi all, been browsing this forum for a while now and it's been very helpful. The Mrs and I are moving to Chiang Mai in about 2 years and members of this forum have been a great source of info, so thanks to everybody here for posting your thoughts, experiences and local knowledge.

One thing I haven't found here is any info about Kendo training in Chiang Mai. Any Kendo practitioners around? I am thinking of taking it up here (Australia) but there's not much point if I can't continue with it when I get to CM. Google indicates that the Chiang Mai International School has/had a Kendo club but I could not find any detailed info. Does anybody here know anything about it, like is it just for students of the school or open to all? Anyone know of any other Kendo clubs around?

Any information greatly appreciated smile.png

There was a group that practiced kendo at Chiang Mai University. I haven't seen them for a while now. They could be practicing at a different location.

We have a small Wado Kai karate dojo that practices at CMU.

There is an aikido club at CMU. They practice their version of iaido in relation to their aikido.

I believe there is also a judo club at the university and another judo club that practices near the train station I think.

PM me if you want more information that I may be able to provide.
