Sorry mate, but a lot of the bar girls are computer whizzes. They can handle three iPhones or IPads at once. They know when the departing plane is taxiing, they'e guiding the other guy in from the Railway Station, whist telling another to let them know when his plane leaves LA.

Well I have yet to see a phone that can handle more than 3 SIM cards at the same time but I've seen them swap those SIM cards out effortlessly. I'm certainly not up to date on these things.

I've had some good results on Thai Friendly (www.thaifriendly.com) while in BKK. I just recently arrived in CM to live for awhile and I'm finding that the CM selection of older women (good for my age 50) is limited, but there seem to be a lot of young women (good for your age).

When I was in BKK for a few months, through Thai Friendly I met LOTS of great women. Business professional, attractive, smart women whom I was quite happy to be on a date with while in a foreign country. They helped me normalize my life and were a blessing.

In a city like Chiang Mai there is absolutely no need for websites to meet people. In the course of a day I must meet 3 or 4 available ladies every time I go out. I'm not looking as I have a family but I have never seen anywhere else in the world where it is so easy to meet nice, single girls.

Ok they're not total cyber wizards perhaps, but how much skill does it take to click a link to FarangFriendFinder.com and hit search? These are young people who grew up with cell phones and common internet technology.

More importantly though, even if a good number indeed aren't bargirls -in the definition of a person employed at a bar-, they may very well be even better golddiggers, just through different (and easier) means.

Now, I would thoroughly recommend those sites just for dating and having some fun, but I'd be as cautious about a real relationship as I would be with someone in a bar and perhaps more so.

Those that learn to speak English, often self-taught, make up a large number of the waitresses, clerks, bargirls and boyfriend/husband hunters in the cities.

A normal lady is someone who works in a normal place(bank, office, goverment, restaurant), has normal friends, speaks good(doesnt say arai waaaa), wear normal clothes(important in CM), doesnt go out everyday, doesnt drink 1 bottle of whisky like water and doesnt smoke 20 cigarettes per day, doesnt have 20 tatoos, 3 children in Fang(countryside), probably has studies, doesnt lie all the time and isnt interested in take all your money, doesnt matter how.

In western countries the things can be a little bit different but we are talking about CM.

In his Opening post he said nothing about normal Thai ladies. My money says he would be bored with them in short order.
