Trump Plans new Tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China
Been there, done that...Peter Navarro to the rescue. 92 Percent of Trump’s China Tariff Proceeds Has Gone to Bail Out Angry Farmers In 2018 and ’19, Trump authorized payments to U.S. farmers of $28 billion to offset their losses from Chinese trade retaliation. This year, with farmers struggling under the twin crises of the trade war and the pandemic, bailouts have soared way higher. Trump promised angry farmers another $19 billion in April and $14 billion in September—bringing his bailouts to a grand total of $61 billion. He has pledged to continue these bailouts until the trade war ends. That trade war has cost U.S. companies many billions in new import taxes (while undermining their competitiveness and increasing consumer prices), yet it has earned the government far less. K bank E-mail with Tax Forms attached ?
When I called KBank customer support, the representative mentioned that I could submit it directly at the branch. However, when I followed up, the staff told me I should handle it myself via email. Eventually, I didn’t submit the form at the branch in Phuket Town because I didn’t have my home country’s tax ID with me and I still wasn't sure if yes or no. Providing my home country’s tax ID wouldn’t be correct, as I am not a resident there. I currently reside in Thailand (more then 180 days), but I don’t have taxable income here (yet. Next week, I plan to apply for a Thai tax ID and eventually send the necessary documents. I suspect this will become increasingly important for dealing with banks, visa applications, and other formalities in the future. -

Thai housemaid’s 100 million baht fortune hits a legal snag
I attended a course in Bangkok back in 2000 entitled 'Thai Law for Foreigners'. The course was given by lecturers who taught lawyers. The nominee shareholder thing back then was totally legal. However, the lecturer explained that it would be best NOT to use that method, because if it went to trial, the judgement would probably come down against the foreigner. The argument being that the preference shareholder scheme implied that a foreigner was worth more than a Thai! There is the letter of Thai law and then there is the spirit of Thai law. Spirit always wins. The lecturer then told us how to do it all legally and within the spirit of the law. -

Seeking Agency for Smooth Crossing from Savannakhet to Mukdahan
I just want to be on the safe side. There’s no reason I should be refused entry, but I’d like to ensure there are no issues. I’ve never had problems before, but I’d prefer to work with an agent who can make the process easier for me. I’ll likely be crossing the border frequently in 2025 to visit my girlfriend, and I’m happy to pay $50–100 per entry for peace of mind. I love Laos and Vietnam, but my girlfriend has a business in Mukdahan and can’t travel much, so it’s more practical for me to visit her. From 2021 to 2023, I lived in Hua Hin on a Non-B visa. Over that time and the past year, I’ve always entered Thailand through Bangkok or Chiang Mai flights without any trouble. I’ve contacted a few visa run agencies in Bangkok to see if they could arrange for someone to meet me at the bridge. While they initially agreed, I haven’t heard back from them. This could be due to the high season, or perhaps I just need to wait a bit longer. I don’t want to be too pushy. Thank you again for your reply and your willingness to assist.
