Indonesian murder suspected arrested in Bangkok

The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Immigration police have arrested an Indonesian fugitive wanted in his country for allegedly killing the son of an Indonesian millionaire last year.

The suspect was identified as Mulyadi Budiman, 20. He was arrested at Don Mueang Airport as he was about to board a flight for Udon Thani. Investigators say he was planning to travel by bus from the northeastern province to Laos.

Budiman is the fourth suspect in the alleged murder of 23yearold William Lim in Jakarta last March. The other three suspects were arrested last year. It is reported that the murder may have stemmed from a conflict involving a Bt24million debt.

Police claimed that the suspect confessed that he and his accomplice killed the victim by wrapping Lim in a plastic bag and pounding him to death with a hammer and a pipe. Police said Budiman would immediately be deported to Indonesia.

How do immigration plice get involved when someone is making a flight from DMk to Udon Thani ?

Great that they did and great he got caught but just curious as how immigration police involved in domestic flight/ travel

Would guess because the guy will be deported under the immigration act rather than a lengthy extradition procedure.
