My brother and I are half Thai, half British. I have been living in Thailand most of my life but my brother in the Uk. He plans to move back to Thailand soon and has so many things that he needs to ship to Thailand. He said that the easiest way to ship them back is for him to be a Thai citizen... For some reason, that is. Therefore, he was wondering whether it was possible to prove that he is a Thai citizen and obtain citizenship while in the Uk? Or does he have to actually come back to Thailand to get that done?

You are Thai if at least one of your parents is Thai at time of birth. The only thing that must be done when born abroad is that the local Thai embassy is notified of the birth, so they cna issue a Thai birth certificate. With that the Thai government has knowledge of your existence and thus you can apply for a Thai ID-card and passport.

So if born in the UK, he needs to contact the Thai embassy in London. All required docuemnts to apply for a Thai birth certificate and passport are on their webiste.

Note that when under 30 one would be eligablefor the draft in Thailand.

Well that's a good reason to wait until you're over 30.
