Based on a BKK-AUH there's a price difference of about B3,450 (assuming that 12,000 is the lowest tax bracket and is based on a BKKAUH itinerary)

Funnily EY flights do sometimes have to divert approaching AUH due to sand storms, traffic delays etc but rarely do they divert to DOH....more likely to head into DXB or SHJ.

Maybe the OP has been watching too many episodes of The Simpsons..... doh....!
