Only water and diet coke so far today - but have the espresso machine down stairs and a nice bottle of Burmese whisky sitting on my desk - once I've finished animating for day I think I'll have a few :)

Avoided getting wet so far - taking kids to town tomorrow for a dousing (last day is always tamest)

In this heat I like something bubbly, but real (French) Champagne is just too expensive, so I like the somewhat cheaper Italian Prosecco, really really cold (3 C).

By the way, Champagne is so horribly expensive only partly due to import taxes. Mostly because the restaurants triple (and more) their purchase price. A bottle or "normal" Veuve Cliquot costs about THB 2,400. But a restaurant charges up to THB 7,000. That is outrageous.

It's dawn.... The air is clean, Songkran's over. Coffee tastes great.

Can't help passing this along. I always knew Homer Simpson was right. "Beeehhr"

Interesting T-dog!

Quotes from the article:

After a taste of beer, the men's brains showed a notable release of

dopamine, a brain chemical associated with the pleasurable experience of

consuming alcohol and other drugs.

Furthermore, the men who had a family history of alcoholism showed an

even greater spike in dopamine levels after they tasted the beer, so the

dopamine response may be a heritable risk factor for alcoholism.

Those are very interesting for sure. I have seen studies where they proved that addiction occurred after smoking one cigarette or having one encounter with cocaine. The brain is a pretty powerful machine and if the genetics are right, watch out. But enough for now.... Got to run out and buy some beer.

I went for a mountain bike ride earlier today and finished off my 100 ounce Camelbak bladder of water. Followed that by lunch with two large Leo's and another liter of water. Man, it is hot out there today.

Leo, great beer and can't find it here in Australia. Bit of a bummer.

I've found a decent Belgium sparkling wine for about THB 270 which is a great price , not quite there alone though, hence the essential ice and strawberry juice. Don't forget the lime wedges.
