SATTAHIP:--The head of a Sattahip village found a small grenade-type bomb discarded in a Tapioca field. A navy bomb disposal unit retrieved the rusted war relic. He suspects teenagers probably tried to ignite the incendiary device, which didn’t work.

SATTAHIP – April 20, 2013 [PDN]; at 3:30 p.m., a report of a bomb found in a tapioca field was received by Pol. Lt. Sinsamut Boonthassana, investigation officer on duty, Sattahip police station.

He coordinated to ask for support from the bomb retrieving unit of the Navy ordnance department, led by Lt. Jr. Grade Panya Changthong, the safety sailor of the bomb disposal unit, and then went to inspect the scene.

The man who found the bomb was identified as Mr. Vorarit Wangborworn, age 32, the village head Moo 11, address 173/11 Tambon Bang Saray, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province.

The bomb had been left on the Tapioca field
