Using 3Rd Party Internet Services To Top Up Your Thai Cell Phone Number

Featured Replies

So it seems like AIS does not accept credit cards from banks outside of thailand. Most ppl would reccomend you get a friend in thailand to top up your mobile number for you but it's not possible for everyone to do that.

Enter the 3rd party services that have you pay them a fee and they will top up your number for you usually with a fee and bad exchange rates.

I just want a list of web sites that do this type of top up service.

Thailandprepaid.com i think is the only site that i could find.

So just ask someone with mobile banking on their phone to top yours up, and give them the cash.

5 minutes no fees , job done.

Well what if i don't know anyone to top it up for me?

Comeon i was hoping there would be a list.

Good business opportunity here. Mobile phone top up. Provide very low service charges, good exchange rates. Done deal.

Let's be honest this is for foreigners. Most foreigners wouldn't have "friends" in foreign countries to top up their phone numbers for them.

Imagine trying to get the only person you might know in thailand like say "pim" the pimp or tour guide you met in thailand to help top up your number for you and how would you pay him? How much would you pay to him to do that favor for you?

AIS certainly used to accept foreign cards, is this a new problem?

I loaded my AIS mobile a month or so ago using my UK card, will need to reload again soon, will let all know what occurs.

Seems to me that if you are in Thailand enough to have a mobile number then you should get yourself a Thai bank account and then you can top up via Internet banking

I thought that was all part of the fun of Thailand, see how low you can get your credit, run out then borrow a friends. The amount of times people have borrowed my phone is uncountable, if I know I need to make important calls I will top up a large amount.

It's like a bonding exercise.

Your Thai gf or bf can buy the top up and using her/his phone, she/he can credit the amount to your telephone number. There is a special # number to dial, and it is very easy.

I get my maid to do it when we are overseas and run out of credit. Although I can't remember the details now, but any ais shop will show you how.

Well, AIS no longer accept overseas cards ;-

Top Up via credit card accept card issued by banks in Thailand only.

Such is life, I'll just have to visit the ATM to top up.

I was hoping to at least get a list of sites that do that. I remember someone's blog had that type of service. I actually topped up my number thru a site but it had service charges while a person that i knew from forum also helped me top up 500 baht without even asking any payment from me.

I offer this service at link to commercial site removed competitive rates and you can pay in THB or GBP

I have voipdiscount on my pc to call to Thailand , but i can Give away, my balance to any mobile number in THE world , so als thai numbers... I did so with an ais number and worked...

Voipdiscount.com

I think there are some companies which provide this service, maybe ask a Thai friend to dig through some Thai forums for options?

http://thaiprepaidcard.com/

You could also enable international roaming, and take a few scratch cards with you and top up from anywhere in the world, assuming you have GSM service and an AIS/One-2-Call roaming partner.

There may also be some options from within the AIS/One-2-Call eService's application?

thaiprepaid gives really bad rates. 4.99 USD if you are registered member for just 100bht. That's a rip off. If you're a non member you have to pay 5.99 USD.

I used mobile recharge and they had service charges on top of the bad exchange rates.
