Liverpool F.c.

I am disappointed if he has handed in a request. I thought would definitely go next year, but stay this season. i suppose we will just end up doing what everyone has done to us and deny the move though.

When will the club announce it (if it is in) and their reaction?

Request has gone in, and the club have said they couldn't give a toss, stance not changed.

Sore back my arse, what a gobshite on the eve of the our first match.

Well Barca got cash upfront from the Qataris, so we can take 130M upfront also snd go and buy VVD, Keita and an ace winger, no problem.

Oh wait, we have an mathematician as our negotiator and he still has 160M he can't spend already.

The lack of nouse and intent when the we finally have the opportunity to go forward I expect has contributed to Coutinho's request to leave.

yeah, i absolutely <deleted> hate our owners. all that money available this summer and they can't give it away. or perhaps don't really want to.

coutinho's sadly just turned out to be another footballer. i don't blame him for wanting to play for barcelona but don't hand in a transfer request on the day before a new season kicks off you w*nker. and his bad back conveniently looks like keeping him out of the hoffenheim match too so he's not cup tied for the champions league. fancy that.

Even if he plays in the Hoffenheim game, he will not be cup tied for the group stages.

Reports suggest he would not be cup-tied even if he did play but look how a hero quickly turns to a villain.

I would not be surprised if LFC are taking a leaf out of Southamptons book and playing this out as with VVD to appease fans and pushed PC him to do just that to force his move.

150m to spend eh but not a penny more than 47m spent and for the fan who could not see the significance of our spend versus huddersfield!  Hope it puts it into perspective.

If liverpool transfer committed had any sense they would take 120m and get to work cos so far they have done virtually nothing. 30% of the budget spent whilst toying with barcelona for months. Absolute dick heads

This Keita deal needs to happen this season. The Neymar deal has brought this whole thing forward a year now, pretty sure Keita was to replace Coutinho but next season.

Coutinho is just going to have to suck it up and get back at it. The club really cannot back down now.

I think I would have preferred Gomez at left back for this one, but the manager's.choice is final. if we get a lead built up, I would like to see Solanke get some minutes on the board too

Coutniho will stay i think, even if he doesn't want to

And for those saying about spending....I'm pretty sure we tried to buy Kieta and are still hoping to buy VVD. Obviously it will be a nonsense if we have no back up plans, and then I will start to complain. Until then we have to see these games through until September. Not ideal, but life seldom is:smile:

Time to up your offer for VVD?

As much as our CH are pretty shit, I don't think VVD would be the answer to all our defensive problems.

We can't defend set pieces or defend at all, that is the issue.

there was a telling point in Klopp's post interview. He said he can only work with the players he has available, the rest is up to the owners....that to me says Phil Cuntinho is off.

Regarding trying to get players, you have to see we've made a pigs ear of it this summer, and we make a pigs ear of it ever summer under this ownership. I don't doubt it is difficult but we had all the stars aligned for the suits to go and get the targets, and they have failed considering our team and bench today. We had a whole summer to work on our weaknesses yet the exact same weaknesses were our downfall today. It's not good enough.

You just need a defence!!

This will be Klopp's 4th window.

Were talking about quality players required but actually they are everywhere.

Most prem defenders are better than our lads and pretty much every defender in the top 10 clubs would replace/improve our defence so why are we eyeing up 1 lad when we clearly do not have a good defence fulls top. This is Klopp's system which has a footprint of conceding goals as long as he has been around as a manager anywhere so even if we do get great defenders with this system we are always going to be more likely to concede goals.

I think you have a point about this. Our defensive system requires defenders with a slightly different skill-set; and they are either difficult to find or, more importantly unavailable. At the moment I just want leader in their who is good at organising us against set pieces and is great with his head. Matic is a good defender but I don't thin he is a leader yet. I would also be up for an experiensed DM to do the same job

Tick Tock: A message for Mr John Henry and FSG

Anfield Talk - Saying it the way it really is!

‪For those that have followed this account for a while, we would like to think we are respectful yet genuinely passionate with our opinions. We don't do many pieces these days but here is a piece on FSG and why enough really is now enough!

For years now many have not trusted FSG. Lie after lie and media game after media game re: so called attempts at big transfers. A very sad yet most likely true predicament that many believe they genuinely deliberately mess up every big deal (one deliberate way or another) and leak stories into the media to make them look like they tried. So many clubs just don't want to deal with us it can't be a coincidence! It has happened so many times now too, surely only fools cannot see through these so called FSG PR tactics. Not only this, under them LFC have regularly and will continue to regularly lose our most valuable assets. That is fact. Many just knew they would find some spin to sell Coutinho this season - and he follows on from Torres, Suarez and Sterling. Firmino, Mane and then Salah are probably next.

The VVD situation this summer is just plain bizarre. The theory that they really didn't think he would choose us is a very strong one. The moment they realised it and thought "oh shit £60m" they leaked a story to the media and frankly pissed Southampton right off. They then issued a grovelling apology yet no action at all against whomever "messed up" such a big deal and potential huge coup. Something just doesn't add up there.

The last few days now have been very odd. You could just sense something was not right between Klopp and FSG by him referring to them as much as he did. Whatever the issue, it is simply incomprehensible that they don't back him. If they sell Coutinho now then clearly it is because Klopp wants to - so they have nothing to lose. If they want to sell him and Klopp doesn't then just where does that leave Jurgen?! Again all is just very odd there. They have to back him, they just have to. Even if these stories of them asking Klopp to buy cheaper alternatives are not true, the fact it is even believable just sums up their actions or lack of these past 7 years.

Summer 2014 was simply CRIMINAL. They had such a platform to kick on. They knew Luis was leaving when they removed his clause in the winter yet with all that time in their hands, cash to burn from his sale plus the new tv deal at the time plus the £ and allure of Champions League football they mustered a net spend of £30m and replaced Luis Suarez with Mario Balotelli and Ricky Lambert and by forcing the former upon Rogers at the time - basically ensuring it the beginning of the end of his tenure. He clearly did not want him.

Other things also wrangle with FSG. Their treatment of Kenny Dalglish and Mr Henry even by passing Steven Gerrards final Liverpool games. Two of our all time greats deserved much more respect surely!

Anyway all that said, NOTHING will make many happier than them stumping up for VVD and Keita this next fortnight (especially us). Those that thought this would happen under them AND we kept Coutinho were/are in dreamland! Anyway like so many others we just keep on waiting to be proved wrong about FSG

Either way the accord/level of trust between them and the fans is virtually zero, and all thing considered, how can it possibly not be! What makes all worse is that they have had some very big offers for the club, surely if they don't want to take it further, then just sell it. They were the chosen investors to save the club from Hicks and Gillette, and credit they have steadied the financial ship with every sort of a deal bar big transfer deals it seems. They are not selling purely because of the greed to sell it for more. Quite his they think that will happen with a net spend of £30m every year is another mystery!! Anyway if Liverpool Football Club, 18 times Chsmpions of England, 5 time champions of Europe and one of the most followed teams in WORLD football, really want to compete again - FSG HAVE to invest much more than they are and seemingly willing to do. They have to start acting like a big player in the transfer market not some penny pinching mouse. Steady will get you 6th or 7th in the League and too many a younger fan today seems happy to accept this mediocrity.

Our message to #FSG @John_W_Henry@Linda_Pizzuti and co is to put up or finally simply sell up. Prove us wrong...finally spend the 2014 cash John, sign VVD, sign Keita...just no more media bullshit - you are not fooling anybody anymore, and more and more genuine and passionate Liverpool fans have had just about enough of your tenure!!

Two weeks, back the manager, please prove this article as a load of shit....TICK TOCK!!!!

I'm not sure what different skill set you mean but I know the current crop is awful and I am wondering whose head this really falls on. I see a lot of teams do not have a defensive coach per se but this team defo needs one.

Klopp has an issue his system leaks goals he can get em to score goals even guardiola hinted it and labelled JK the best attacking coach but this geezer aint got a bloody clue about the defence and his heads gonna be on the block if this continues, he has acted weak with his board and now were getting the effects of that on the field. I'm surprised JK is not more forceful he's on the back of an awful last season with BD and whilst we got to that final in his 1st year it has not progressed so what's he waiting for? He should out the board himself if they are so stingy not wait round for bloggers to do it. The lads interview looked awful after the game that smile is wearing thin somethings got to give.

Anyone see the carragher vs jamie rednapp embarrassing spat on the weekend? Arguing about the state of Liverpool defence / set piece defending. I thought rednapp was making reasoned arguements - he reckoned you lacked a leader which the soton player you covet would greatly improve - to which carragher just got animated and screechy with no real arguement. If you saw it what did you think?

I'm getting well ticked off at the moment. We're a fuckin shambles. I suppose that result on the weekend just magnified it all.
Now there's talks of the window closing before the season starts, finally someone comes up with a bright idea what should have happened years ago.
