Well I'm not rich....but I can afford a bottle of something cold...or a glass of something at room temp....a decent meal....and to sleep well.

What more do you want every day of the week.....?

A good woman

That is the very difficult part. laugh.png

Not for me it isn't.

i am assuming that this post refers to homeownership who announced assets of around 19 million sterling.

it is my belief that the man is either crass, ignorant, delusional, lying or any and all combinations of the three.

he might just be a braggart with only 18 million... or perhaps 17.5 million Sterling.

id file that under crass and ignorant

An Internet forum opens the world up for anybody to be what they really are not or talk about what they really haven't got. huh.png

Over a period of time regular readers, I think, soon have their ''thoughts'' about certain posters smile.png , though many have been wrong about me, I mean the picture in their head is way different to the guy l really am.laugh.png

What guy are you really Transam? I think you are one of the better posters on TV, but if you come from Yorkshire, I take that back.

Generally, I think most of these people are immature attention seekers and dreamers. Boasting certainly gets them a lot of attention. My instinct and perhaps my prejudices suggest to me that they include a high proportion of failed estate agents.

That's four things!

I grew up in abject poverty. My father was an abusive alcoholic and took off with the neighbour's wife a few weeks after my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I held my mother's hand in the government hospital and watched her last breath. There was a full moon that night, I remember it clearly as I walked out of the hospital and stood in the early morning air, staring up at the bright light, and wondering what the hell I was going to do.

I started work at 15 and 9 months and worked at labouring, retail and other low paid jobs. For one period of 18 months I worked two full time 8 hour jobs. One all day and one all night. I used to be able to scam a bit of sleep in the toilet at the night job but on average I would be lucky to get 3 hours sleep a day.

I lived in a rented car garage, did all of my own cooking and washing (and sewing) and had NO support whatsoever from anyone.

I eventually saved enough money to go to university as a mature age student...and won the faculty medal.

After graduating I continued to work as a university tutor and started my own business with nothing more than a laptop and a phone.

I am an entirely self made millionaire (AUD) and retired to Thailand at 45.

I still live like a pauper. Those who know me well always complain about my shitty old cars and motorbikes.

But my goal was always FREEDOM...not shiny new toys.

Now I do what I want, when I want.

I never brag, but I am happy to give the facts of my life straight up.

And am I proud of my achievement? What do you think?

I reckon it's strange bragging about how much money you have....I have multi-millionaire friends in the UK who never brag about what they have. I have known them a long time and they are generous, but they never feel the need to show how much wealth they have.

Maybe, it is to impress people? Personally, I do care what people have or don't have! As long as they are nice people.

I am down to my last GBP5M....but I struggle along! wink.png

I don't understand why talking of money is taboo - no worse than guys bragging about the incomes of their G/F's, or the guys who post pictures of G/F's and explain how it's true love.

Usually the ones who don't like discussing money are the ones who have little or the ones who are already wealthy.

A lot of the threads remind me of reading the Penthouse Forum when I was a wee whacker lad.

At first, they're fascinating, to think that people actually write in about their "experiences". (Not to mention that people actually do that stuff) But after reading a hundred or so, it becomes apparent that the writing style is a little too consistent....

If you're sitting behind an anonymous account, tossing out a fictitious persona that claims to have gotten rich by inventing rubber bands, why not "put yourself up to be torn to threads"? You get to rag on others as much as they rag on you - or more accurately, on Dash Riprock, who has more money than God and a winkie and infinite wisdom to go with it- and the TV hit counter keeps spinning.

It's a win-win-win. Especially on a boring day.

what the hell are you on about ?

All the world's is a stage, And all the men and women merely players.

Sometimes people use these forums as stages as if they are Broadway superstars.

If I were a rich man,

Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.

All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.

If I were a wealthy man.

I wouldn't have to work hard.

Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.

If I were a biddy biddy rich,

Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man.
