Car Loan

Featured Replies

A thai friend of mine in Chiangmai cannot get a loan to purchase a new car, even he is willing to put a 50% down payment..The reason he said is a bad credit of about 20,000 baht he have had with Aeon few years back.

It is true because of this he is blacklisted from taking any loan forever...Is there any finance company in Chiangmai willing to provide the loan or is there any way to get out of this dilemma...thanks..

Your friend's best chance at getting finance will be by using a broker, so he doesn't rack up any further official refusals on his credit rating... The fact that there's one new refusal (assumed) has already made it that much harder to get approved elsewhere...

Though I must say, falling foul on your credit rating over just 20K Baht looks incredibly bad - he'd probably be better off if he defaulted on 20M Baht - at least then he'd still be able to present a case that he's capable of paying a few thousand every month on a car loan..

My guess? He's loan shark bait now...

so did he actually pay back Aeon or is there more involved.. He can get a full credit list from the credit agency via the bank@ 150b.

Maybe he has forgotten something..Then if he has forgotten something just pay it off wait a few months and try again.

No he did not pay back Aeon, he though it was a small amount, didn't expected to be blacklisted...BTW what is this credit list from the credit agency...thanks

Yeah it is stupid to be blacklisted over 20k baht...I think he took a cash advance from Aeon atm and even ignored the repeated payment advice..

"using a broker" how does it goes about...

Pay off the Aeon. Then later get a NCB report.

I would not want to lend money to somebody with that attitude.

Why not consider buying a second hand car? I also believe it is easier to get finance on a second hand car which is ONE of the reasons the retain their value so well.

MOST Thai's want brand new cars / houses yet don't have a pot to piss in....living beyond their means basically, what's the point in that?

#7 and #8..

This guy yes took the 20K baht from Aeon atm, he did not pay back immediately when the statement came....then he was posted overseas for a year and reminders were sent to his thai address, he was informed by his family, so either he ignored them by choice or intent....

He is now looking to buy a Honda CRV with a down payment of 600K and a loan about 700K...

Well if this is his altitude, then he is paying the penalty of being blacklisted for a mere 20K...sound stupid right...clap2.gif

And funny enough ALL he has to do is pay Aoen the money plus any outstanding penalties. Then wait a few months for it to show. Then go buy his car.. easy. But I bet he will not wait.

Aeon wants more than 100K baht...interest/penalty etc....don't know how they arrived at this amount....

Anyway folks let's close this topic..lest getting more unsavory remarks...hard to meet a angel this days...smile.png

20,000 or 20,000,000 it don't matter. Pay what you owe or get blacklisted, the choice is yours.

Why does he think it would be different here to back home ?

He is back home, first words of the op: "A thai friend of mine in Chiangmai"
