Getting To Rajamangala Stadium

Featured Replies

Myself and the junior have got tickets to the Chelsea game in July, and we're wondering what's the best way to get to Rajamangala Stadium in time for kick-off. Has anyone had any experience of getting to the stadium?

Is it best to taxi, bus or train? I'm guessing there's no parking anywhere nearby.

Thanks

I was based near ekamai and went quite a few times, tbh didnt drive so no idea on parking but tried all other combos, by the time you paid sky train then metro, nearest was rama 9, then taxi or bike 2 the stadium ect it was v nearly as cheap to get a taxi direct, certainly a LOT LOT less hastle.

Stadium is in ramkhamhaeng area. My advice: get there way before kickoff as traffic will be horrendous.

Ramkhamhaeng is usually bad as it it, but I once went to a game there and it was a nightmare. Non moving Traffic all the way to RCA area on the Rama 9 road. Taxi dumped me in the midst of it, and was impossible to get anything else :)

On the bright side, there's now the airport link. I would use that, and once you get to ramkhamhaeng station, then get a taxi to stadium

Ohhh, I hope Chelsea lose :D tonight, and at that game versus Thailand :D

The best way to get there is on the klong San Saep boat, get off at the stop for Ram Uni and walk.

yeah mig, did that,, and nearly every time had real hastle getting a cab at ramkhamhaeng,.. the f----ers just kept saying no!!!! so ended up getting a bike, he cant do that with a kid, or maybe he can? . any way, by the time Ide paid for the sky train and bike or cab it was nearly as cheap and a darn sight quicker to just get a cab direct 2 the stadium, but again i went to a games without huge crowds ,,, so .oh the boat sounds interesting you ever done it that way?,,,

Boat could work, and a bit less of a safety concern given it won't be peak hour.

I dont use the boat cos I'm too scared. I would opt for airport link even though it's a bit further away compared to boat. But that's just me.

I went on one of the EPL team playing there some years ago, so yeh traffic was crazily packed.

Ya the boat works great for me. Just try not to get the water in your eye if it splashes ha ha. I've taken the canal boat many times and it's the best way, in my opinion, to get to that area. I try not to take the boat after dark, though, as some of the stops can feel quite dodgy at night.

I used to live not far from there and if you are a cheapo like me and don't mind taking buses, there are some that run straight up Rhamkhamhaeng all the way up, but I can't remember the numbers anymore. Seems like 92 might have been one.

But yeah, otherwise taxi. If you use the airport link that's still a good distance away but not too far before rush hour. But once rush hour hits, it's a madhouse around there. I even walked back from the stadium to the airport link (actually the intersection near the current station, as the train wasn't even running back then), but then again I'm crazy and most people wouldnt' want to walk that far.
