True To True Free?

me and my wife used to be on one 2 call and our calls cost nothing. I have now changed to true as I want to use the internet on my phone and where I live you can only use True 3G. My phone bills have gone up so i was wondering if True have free calls to other true users (As long as you top up so much per month, as with 12call). My missus also wants to keep her number which I was assured I could do when I changed to True, and then they couldn't do it (tey said). is there any reason she can't keep her number? I was quite sure you could do that here now.

Do you have TrueMove or TrueMove H? Pre-paid or post-paid. (Note that TrueMove's service is scheduled to end on September 15, 2013.)

AIS/One-2-Call seems to have the most "buffet" options, including on-net calls. DTAC/Happy also have some buffet options, including those for a single, on-net number. Most of these have some restrictions: time of day, length of call, or even a subscription fee or reduced rate.

It would help if you could share all of your requirements: voice/data, phone make/model and budget.

What will happen to the existing TrueMove connections?

Will they be automatically transferred to TrueMove H?

If not, what should TrueMove customers do to keep their numbers?

Thank you.

Does not matter what carrier you can transfer your number..

I still have the same number, was with Hutch, so of course that became True, thankfully only signed a 6 months contract as. True H was totally hopeless, now on AIS and yes still on my old number, took about 40 mins and the old True number was on AIS

I don't think it's possible to forecast what exactly will happen at 00:01 on 16/9/13. It's not clear anyone is dealing with this issue, so expect some news during the day of 15 Sep. rolleyes.gif

There is no automatic transfer of numbers; individuals are responsible for initiating the MNP process. If I had a TrueMove number which I wanted to preserve I would probably port it to TrueMove H, AIS/One-2-Call or DTAC/Happy sooner rather than later.

I came across this site which suggest to port your TrueMove number toTrueMove H.

My problem is that I will be coming to TH next only after September 15, 2013.

Assuming you have the SIM with you, and are outside the country, then you should attempt to port the number from TrueMove to TrueMove H once you return to Thailand, even if it is after Sep. 15, 2013. A lot can happen between now and then, and even if it doesn't, I suspect there will be a decent grace period, perhaps even longer than the 60 - 90 day period generally invoked these days.

Is your SIM/number in anyway registered to your name/passport? If not, I guess you could mail the SIM back to someone you know in Thailand, and ask them to port it for you. You do lose any pre-paid balance, and do have to pay a 99 baht porting fee.

How to Port your number to TrueMove H by SIM mailing service
Simply request TrueMove H SIM mailing service which will take approximately 7 working days for delivery(Click Here). After the new SIM card has been received, please follow these instructions:
1) Use the TrueMove number that you wish to port and call 1331 to register the new TrueMove H SIM serial number (18 digits)
or click www.trueiservice.com/simdelivery.
2) Wait for the SMS confirming the porting date. During this period, there is no interruption to your TrueMove services.
3) You will receive an SMS confirming the porting date.
4) After the porting process has been completed, the mobile network signal display may disappear and you may not be able
to use the service, please change the SIM card to the new one in order to use TrueMove H services.

- Yes. This is the current status.

- This would be very helpful.
Is your SIM/number in anyway registered to your name/passport?
- No. I just picked it up from a 7-Eleven
I guess you could mail the SIM back to someone you know in Thailand
- This would be the first option I would try, I think.

- Thank you.
Thank you very much for your most helpful suggestions.
Please accept my most sincere appreciation.

I asked my friend to check on this matter with TrueMove H. They had said the SIM will be OK until it's validity period. As I extended my validity until January 2014, I guess my SIM is safe if they keep to their word!

Presently there seems to be quite a big rush for changing SIMs.

So as far as I can see you are all advising changing to a True H sim. Will this make any difference to me as i have a 3G sim? Aloso will it make any difference if my wife only wants to use the phone not the net? i.e. can she get a calls only package with True H?

No. No.

Interesting reply, though I don't understand it.

Anyway, after the wife decided that more money is spent with her calling her friend on AIS (definately true) it would be cheaper for her to stay on AIS (again true). I have opted for the I smart package 699 baht knocked down to 499 a month for a year. 400 mins on the phone plus unlimited 3g (2gb really then edge), this should be enough for my needs. They also chucked in a true box so we can watch true on another TV at no extra cost. Only basic true package on second box though. I run a cable from my true box to the second at the moment which gives me SD TV ob second TV, Cant change chanels though and that is annoying.
