I have used the search facility and answered nearly all my questions on taking my wife (spouse visa) on a holiday to France but still have a few queries.

1 I live in the West Midlands not specifically mentioned by the French Consulate as allowing postal applications....does it?

2 I intend to tour therefore have no accommodation ...is this a problem?

3 Do I need to show travel insurance

4 Can I ask for a one year visa to allow later quick visits to France

5 If we are successfull and get a visa maybe for one year, could we later have a weekend in Amsterdam using the same visa

Any coments as usual greatly appreciated

Cheers

Hi Rob,

1. Check again on the website. I believe it says that only those living in London need attend in person.

2. No. Your wife, through marriage to an EU national, should get a free visit visa for which the qualifying rules are less stringent. You will, however, need to show that you are married and provide a copy of your passport.

3. No. An E111 or European health card is acceptable.

4. Yes, but they might not grant a one-year visa until your wife has indefinite leave in the UK.

5. Yes.

Cheers,

Scouse.
