BANGKOK: -- Trinity Securities' Natwarin Tripobsakul ranked as Thailand's best stock analyst last year by picking consumer and retail stocks that were primed to benefit from the improving sentiment in the country as it recovered from devastating floods in 2011.

Ms. Natwarin, 32 years old, scored highly by recommending Central Plaza Hotel PCL, CENTEL.TH which yielded 92% on her buy calls, and hypermarket Big C Supercenter PCL, BIGC.TH which gained 65% on her calls, as the Thai stock market outperformed most of its regional peers.

But she also showed a bit of daring in picking little-known plastics maker Srithai Superware SITHAI.TH PCL. The company is rarely covered in Thailand, even as it has extended its reach in recent years, supplying everything from cartoon-themed plastic cups sold in movie theaters to molded plastics used in Thailand's growing automobile business.

Not many "repies" yet, but not really "to" much time allowed yet either. The other problem is that the person about whom the article is written isn't a bar girl, a tuktuk driver or a jet ski renter, which mean the usual Thai bashers would be well out of their depth.
