The Tot Farce ... A Comedy, Honest.

Featured Replies

Do yourself a favour and never ever call/visit the local TOT office as they don't give a crap.. Always call 1100, give them a precise description of your problem. Chances are 1000000000:1 that your problem will be solved to your satisfaction.. smile.png

Just my experience from Surin..

1100 is an even bigger joke.

What your problem sir?

OK, I talk technician, make report

Goodbye.

In my original post I said I even called thei supervisors and they did very little.

Admittedly this problem is in Pattaya and I've never experienced problems like this with TOT in other parts of Thailand.

On Koh Chang the TOT service is absolutely abysmal. Some subscriber's have connections only 20% of the time. A senior supervisor finally admitted to me there are not enough lines/bandwidth to handle the demand. To his credit, he instructed the local TOT office to accept only 200 baht each month and consider my bill paid--and they have.

This situation has been going on for two years and shows no sign of improving...

WOW!! TOT came round this afternoon and fixed the cabling outside the house. They then came inside and ran some tests on the line and they seemed happy.

Am I dreaming?

Will this even solve the problem?

I'll let you know when I've run the internet for a few days and see if I have any disconnects .........

Just change. But it may be the same. Customer service is nonexistent in Thailand due monopoly these companies have and the workers that don't care

You are right, I have no clue on your experience other than what you have posted yourself.. So, You go girl..

You write that they didn't set up your pc/laptop, I fail to see where I disagree.. The fact is that where ever you're staying, your isp don't give a f... about your pc/laptop settings unless you specifically ask them for assistance. And this is not based on any trolling experience, but actual knowledge from 4 cities and 3 different isp's in Thailand and 9 different European isp's (3 countries)..

Drjden, please let me explain where you showed that you are inexperienced.

It was at the point where you started a discussion with Lemoncake laugh.png

Indeed, lemoncake has found yet another thread in which to pick a fight with someone.

It has now been several days since I made the topic.

There has been a vast improvement in my connection though it is not 100%

While I am at the computer the disconnects have reduced from 10+ a day down to about two. The disconnects are longer though and on two occasions have lasted over 30 minutes.

On contacting TOT about this, they are still full of crap with them now saying the ADSL can only reach 4 mb yet my download speeds when the connection is working are great.

TBH they either do not care or are incompetent.

When it got to 20+ a day disconnections, I was not a happy bunny.

As it stands now, I can happily survive the odd disconnection as that is no great hardship.

Between tot and 3bb in terms of reliability. At home for the last 3 years with 3BB have had almost no issues and the download speed advertised comes very close to what im actually getting. Wont quote them as perfect but im quite satisfied but keep in mind a few years ago new telephone lines were installed into my house from the main line so that could be the reason.

Its the same with me up here in Chiang Mai,they always tell you its the routers fault,

so I bought new router, still use old one as well,as cannot get 1 PC to connect wireless

to new router.

Now the problem is when it rains the connection goes down,so thats not a router problem

must be the wires outside getting wet ,whatever, now this is a catch 22 situation, because

I only have the problem when it rains, if the technician (termed loosely) comes and its not

raining he will find no problem, so I am going to have to wait till rainy season starts proper

to see if they can find problem, when it rains and it goes down, takes about hr to come back

then its usually very slow, for an other couple of hrs, I though True TV was only thing that

went off when it rained, except when it really rains then electric goes off without fail.

regards Worgeordie

I had the exact same problem with TOT. I even had a new line ran from their post to my house, but the problem was beyond that and they never came in the rain and never fixed it...

I cancelled and moved to True cable - lovely!
