Newbie...urgent Advice On Thai Culture Please.

Invite who you want to your birthday party and forget what others say... Tell your friend that you have already decided on who you want at your birthday and you don't have the money to pay for Mr and Mrs Smith.

If that person who is being pushy still doesn't understand - forget about them and take them off your birthday invite list also. That way you save money and don't have to deal with the hassle.

I don't think this is anything to do with Thai custom and whatnot. I'm pretty sure Thai people sometimes have to make decisions on who they want to see at their birthday. :P

Your party, invite who you want to go. If that makes others unhappy with you, they are not your friends, they are hangers on or maybe worse.

If someone is being pushy, let them push hard, side step and see them fall flat on their faces ;)
