Landlady provided us with a 750 liter water tank from Homepro Chiangmai (3 bed bungalow)

It fills very slowly and has twice almost emptied in the last week with only average usage. ( estate pressure OK) no leakage just slow refill.

Asked Homepro about the rate of refill and was told 8 liters per hour ( 90 hours, nearly 4 days?).

Does that refill rate sound right or what?

No where near Chiangmai, but question ( estate pressure OK)

Myself see no reason to use the electric pump to fill the ponds or water the garden, so cut the feed pipe and these are done by mains water as it were 2 different tapes, pressure is OK but hold the hose pipe 2 meters high and the water coming out slows right down. your water tank feeds from the top ? mine does..

Again this estate pressure OK what is it like on an estate when most use water at the same time ?

I also have water back up. Be careful of back flow. Make sure it's plumbed correctly with all the right valves. So you don't fill it up and then slowly allows water to go back to the main. Be there and done that.

Must be blockage into tank, if the pressure on the estate is OK,why are you

using the water tank ,it should just be needed for emergency, take top off

the tank and look inside ,should be a ball and cock system ,is the water

flowing OK from that?

Feeds from the top, about 7ft high so similar situation.

We use the pump mainly to have a decent shower as although the estate pressure is OK but not good enough for that.

Still, back to refill time, 8 liters per hour still seems slow. Perhaps I need another pump to improve the flow to the tank! (-:

If the hose pipe is straight off the mains then, to me, that would indicate that the estate water pressure is very low and not ok.

If on the output of the tank, and no pump assist, that would be normal if the water level in the tank was around 2 m high.

8 liters per hour is extremely slow

if that is what you really have then the estate pressure in is very low or there is some restriction on it like a valve not open full, perhaps the valve in the tank that Worgordie referred to above needs adjustment or is faulty or there may be another valve on the input to the tank

Yes,something wrong. Anyway, just been advised they ,Homepro, are coming tomorrow so hopefully it will get resolved.

If a ball and cock system could well be some muck..... sand blocking/part blocking the flow.. ? mostly find it is sand like stuff, also taps need to be cleaned every so often...

If it is all new ? then could well be bits of the plastic when the pipe was cut part blocking ?

It cannot be 8 litres an hour, look at it logically...a toilet cistern is usually 6/8 litres and it takes ONE minute to fill....yes?

So the tank would fill at around 400 litres an hour at same pressure/supply pipe size.

Does you big take an hour to refill before you try to flush those elephant trunks again.

Are you in Ban Wang Tan, want me come look? [Mains pressure varies depending on time of day and local usage, especially in section 5]

I have installed several tank/pump systems and supply should be direct to top of your tank with a ball-cock to shut it off when full. an alternative feed is direct to house with appropriately located non-return valves to avoid re circulation and/or pressurising the mooban!

Pump supply comes from bottom of tank and joins back into house supply to provide pressure when MAINS is inadequate.

Here's a system I installed for a mate > [note: NRV and stop cock installed later in pump supply line]

Thanks for the offer but as Homepro are coming to look and under guarantee better to go that route.

In addition just found what looks to be some sort of plastic seal in pieces in the tank so no doubt some sort of blockage as well from other bits.

I think you have problem only 1 point is water fill to the tank.

1. Check the gate valve ant main gate ,Is it 100% turn on? or only 10-20%

2. And then ,Check for the tap of your garden in front of the house(I guess you might have) ,I think ,It is connect directly from the main line and test the pressure of it compare the pressure with water to come in your water tank.

3. If the tap you think has more pressure than inlet to the tank. please check for ball vale which connect to inlet pipe to your water tank is turn on 100%?

4. If all valves are turn on 100% ,now I think

4.1. Problem is not water tank. But it has problem for your plumbling system.

4.2. It might have something stuck in your pipe to your water tank

4.3 Checking size of the main line connect to your water tank inlet is similar in size or not? It might be small main line about 1/2" and the inlet to water tank might be dia. 1"

Please check for these before,I will not talk for water pump ,because it's the outlet system to feed the water out t supply for your house.

Sorry ,If you not understand some sentences ,because I'm Thai .
