i have to provide a countersignatory on my baby's passport. If i cannot get a

is it ok to get a Thai doctor to do it ?

Any ideas would be appreciated

I'm also doing my baby's passport, the person we have got to do the countersignature for us is my wife's old school teacher. He is Thai and doesn't read, write or speak any English.

Is it ok for me to fill in that section of the C2 form and photo and he just puts his signature on them?

If not, any other ways round this as we don't know any UK citizens that can sign for us here in Thailand.

Thanks, Jim.

I suspect it might be OK, but the IPA do say that they carry out checks with the person countersigning, that could possibly cause a problem if the countersigner doesn't speak English.

I would sugest that you email the Consular Section at the UK Embassy and seek advice [email protected] I seem to remember reading that staff at the Embassy will sign the form if you lodge in person.
