PATTAYA:--The former Assistant Village Chief of Nongprue gave himself up to Police on Sunday Morning after he was involved in a road rage incident at the Poi Pet Market in Noi Neun Plub Wan in East Pattaya which resulted in the death of a minivan driver.

Khun Choochart aged 46 waited at the scene of the shooting for Police to arrive and handed himself in and gave up his licensed weapon to Police. The victim was Khun Pornai aged 22, the driver of a Toyota Minivan who was involved in an angry confrontation with the former Assistant Village Chief who had just arrived in his car with his wife to prepare his market stall at 5.30am.

A disagreement over parking arrangements reportedly escalated into a fight involving the victim and a group of 4 of his friends who approached Khun Choochart and allegedly punched him many times in his face.

Later at Nongprue Police Station Khun Choochart claimed he retreated back to his car and pulled out his firearm which was kept in his vehicle after he saw the victim produce what he thought was a gun.

I like the idea of a shoot out, over parking! One idiot pulls a gun, with no bullits, and the other idiot has a gun that is loaded! It doesnt take much here, to get shot, even not enough sauce is reason enough!

From what I have been reading over the last year, I had to scroll to the top of this page to remind myself that I was reading the news, and not the norm.

And to be honest, I have a sincere thought which places my sentiment on the side of the man, wife and child; as the reputation of minivan drivers and their behaviors precedes them. I am not saying this is right, but I am saying that minivan drivers have a terrible reputation of the way they drive, and I am certain it is not limited to just when they are in their minivan seat and gripping the steering wheel.

Anyway; simply another day in their lives...
