Hi,

Anyone have a good dentist in Bkk to refer for this proedure and aproximate costs for whole mouth procedure. Here in canada I was quoted about $2000 and my insurance only covers $1200, so I'm looking at my options, maybe just do half mouth in Canada and rest in Thailand if price is good.

Thanks

I have done this every 4 months for many years...and for me it has completely eliminated all the problems I used to have with bleeding gums etc....highly recommended procedure...

the dental hospital on soi 49 is a very well run operation ....does nothing but dental...good English, modern and clean and is run by an ex thai military guy who keeps everything on time and efficient...they respond quickly to emails etc..

the cost has been creeping up over the past few years but still is a bargain at 1500 baht or about $50 usd for the entire mouth...takes about 30 mins or so...

dentalhospitalbangkok is the very last place i would recommend as they ripped me off for 6k for a simple filling, that was a few years ago. That included x rays and they claimed it was on 4 surfaces even though it was a front tooth. No itemised bill was produced, seemed way over the top at the time and now I know it was. Now I have a great dentist at Amarin plaza who only does what is need and top quality, and far than dentalhospital. They charge 1200 for this.

I pay 1,400 THB at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya for deep cleaning, the only thing that I will use that hospital for.

But I have to ask the OP, have you in the past had the full periodontal procedure where the gums are cut, peeled back, cleaned and then re-sown ?

Sound like that is the procedure that you were quoted the $2000 for in Canada

Routine cleaning after the major one is what costs between 1,400 to 1,500 THB here in Thailand

I wasn't quoted for a surgery, they will make my gum numb and deep clean the pocket that is formed in the gum. I called some other dentist and it seems to be the going rate, around $360 per quadrant plus other fees like x-ray it goes up to close to $2000. If it can be done for that cheap in Thailand, I will hold it off until I visit next time.

The fact that you used the term quadrant indicates to me that is the procedure I described in my above post.(which is oral surgery) Therefore you will have to wait until someone who has had that done here in Thailand to give you a Thai price for the full procedure. It will obviously be cheaper here in Thailand but how much cheaper I can't say but certainly will be more that the 1,400 - 1,500 THB quoted so far

Living in Saigon for 4 years I use an ultra modern private clinic attached to the Dental Hospital. Last work was 3 root canals and 4 crowns with titanium seats forming a 4 tooth bridge. Started on a Monday and finished following Wednesday. Total cost $723

I think you are correct....surely a basic deep cleaning could not possibly cost $2000 in Canada?.....
