Hmmm interesting, cant say that Ive heard about that. All I know (from when I was there) is that the place has always been well managed ie clean and tidy, good security and ample car/motorbike parking. I will add that it is starting to look a bit tired due to age but they did renovate the swimming pool a few months ago. The condo I was in was fine...12 floor facing the town not Doi Suthep. Was a lot cooler in the hottest months vs the opposite side. Good balcony too

A lot of the shops in the lobby are closed or office spaces arent occupied. But there is still a restaurant, laundry, convienience store and the obligatory massage place (Seem to be everywhere!).

Good location and handy to ksk and Nimmenhaimen (Or however you spell it )

Cheers

I know the rooms can be very good also not so good depends on the owner.

Every time I go in the lobby I feel like I am in a Ghost town. Defiantly needs some thing to lighten it up. How is the Gym only took a quick peak at it not sure what to say about it, Glad to hear they worked on the pool.

Like a lot of condo's, the standard of the room depends on the owner. Ive seen some so so nothing great places, but then others have been incredible value. Its just a case of shopping around.

People also remark about the corporate management...but I think thats more for the owners then just tenants. But I think it sometimes reflects in the communal areas within the complex. You get to pick up on things like clear accessways, clean elevators that dont smell of urine! Yes I have seen all levels within CM.

The gym in HS4 does need an update....alot of the equipment is very tired but it functions. Im not sure on their replacement regime but its one area they do need to look at.

Transportation is easily obtainable outside the complex and ksk is easy walking distance.

Hope that helps

i would advise people to be very wary of renting h/s 4, a 15 story condo is being built on the waste land next door completely blocking the view of tenants on doi suthep side, the bank is sniffing for unpaid monies and apart from the gym,and a small do it youself laundry every shop resturant and super market are gone, rats sinking ship comes to mind.

bloody hell mate he wont half thank you, when he relises he has to put up with two years plus building construction work, right next to his balconey.

Funny, no one has asked the OP obvious questions such as how much he is willing to pay and what he needs--a shoebox studio or luxury penthouse. Without that info all I can offer is that there are a lot of cheap shoeboxes and probably few expensive penthouses available, and quite a lot in-between.

I didnt know about the construction of a new 15 story building next door to HS4 as I no longer reside there. Interesting to hear that. And the empty land (Construction area) you mentioned is on the opposite side of the complex to the condo/room I rented. I bet the tenants on the Doi Suthep side will be gutted.... I know I wouldnt be happy.

And when did the resturant and convienience shop downstairs close? I was visiting people last week in HS4 and they were still open then.

I know of a renovated condo next to CMU? not a studio - one bedroom/kitchen/washing machine/3D TV/new air con and balcony etc. PM me if interested : 15,000 a month for one year contract

For me this info about Hillside 4 is very timely. I left CM for Mexico this month and am returning the first week of August. Was interested in renting a unit in Hillside 4 because of the gym and the location. Hearing about the lobby situation is good to know as on their website they say they've got 2 restaurants, one Thai and one Japanese. If anyone else has any other current information on Hillside 4 pro or con, I'd love to hear it.

Thank you true blue. Do you have any info as to the start date? Perhaps doing a six month rental then out could beat the construction?

Also could anyone offer suggestions for alternative buildings? Something in the area of HS4, with good studios in the 12K-13K per month? Walking distance to

eats? Can do a longer lease for that.

Yes PM me please - I know of a one bed luxury room just finished renovation @ 15,000 : salt water pool/ tons of parking/next to CMU

edit: NEAR Hillside Four but much, much better

You got a source on that? I think that story can be traced to a single poster on thaivisa. I don't find it credible. If there was a 14 story condo going up there, they'd be trying to pre-sell the units already.

the bank is sniffing for unpaid monies

So there's been a repossession or foreclosure - that's more to do with an indivdual's finances and doesn't really relate to the health of the condo.

apart from the gym,and a small do it youself laundry every shop resturant and super market are gone

Well that statement is just the opposite of true. I forget the word for that.

The Japanese restaurant did close, but the minimarket relocated to a refurbished premises in the lobby, the Thai restaurant is open, and a tip for HS4 residents - Noi's Italian restaurant opposite the Furama entrance delivers to Hillside 4. Various other shops and services are open in the commercial spaces.

rats sinking ship comes to mind.

Or maybe you're talking Hillside 4 down, hoping to get a good bargain ahead of the Maya opening 200m away? Good luck with that.

Well said hillside4guy, I was thinking the same but as I no longer reside there couldnt comment. Good to hear the restaurant is still open as the food is quite good, spicy for some but thats how I like it.

I too have not heard any thing more re the vacant land apart from someone mentioning a caviat that no one can build over a certain height in the immediate area. Maybe this could be what has put a halt to building, if in fact it was ever going to happen.

Still, all in all I found the condo to be fine. A tad quiet but thats ok by me.

i admire your some what positive attitude relating to the dire situation at poor hillside 4,im sure your post will give some hope to people living there, but unfortunally the facts are as stated, and they are not rumours, though there are a lot of unanswered questions,as you can well imagine when something like this disrupts every ones life,i hope for the sake of every one that the building works never materilises, but the plot has been cleared and it is a prime location,im sure people would appreciate it for the latest up dates.and not just use topic to prove ones own agenda.

I've been going to the hillside 4 gym for about 6 months. It's perfectly fine for working out but gets too busy in the evenings, if you go early there will be <10 ppl in there. Also they run some yoga classes (free for members) which are pretty sweet. New pool looks exactly same as the old one, I'm not sure what they changed.

Lobby is desolate. I imagine the rent is way too high for any profitable new business to open up in there.

They replaced all the tiles - a lot were dirty and broken before.

The lobby does have a somber feel to it - I think it is the lack of natural light. But its been that way for years - there hasn't been any sudden or recent deterioration.

Well I know it is out of the price range but the Furama has some great condos plus I believe it is 5 restaurants and they are connected to each other. Just walk in the door to HS4 and keep walking takes you right into the Furama. Barbaque on the roof with a really nice 360 degree view.
