Can anyone help? I have read a lot of posts and have become somewhat confused. I am 45 and I have a multiple entry non-o visa which was issued in Sydney Australia that is due to expire in September 2013.This was issued with no bank account funds being requested but my original marriage certificate from a Bangkok Amphur was plus a few other requirements. ( I believe I can do one more visa run just prior to its expiration date in September and get another 90 days? ) As I now live here with my wife in Pattaya what am I to do to ensure that I can continue to stay? I would like to arrange everything from here without returning to Australia if possible. Do I get another multiple entry non-imm "O" visa from a suggested Suvankhet in Loas as I do not want to deposit 400k into a bank account plus it wouldn't be there for the required two months and we happily live on 25k per month not 40k or as some have suggested an extensiion of stay based on marriage? We can supply my passport and photo's, original marriage certificate, wife's ID and house book along with a map and house photos of us with our clothes and furniture etc. I also have the books in my name of our car and motorbike. Someone suggested an ED-visa. Would this be easier?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried contacting the Consul where you got your visa from in the first place ? I did something similar with Brisbane Consul who helped me out. I suppose that you know that you have a further 3 months after the expiration date ?

...I believe I can do one more visa run just prior to its expiration date in September and get another 90 days?...

Yes, you can. This will keep you covered until December 2013.

...As I now live here with my wife in Pattaya what am I to do to ensure that I can continue to stay?...

To live long-term with your Thai wife in Thailand, the correct thing to do is to get one-year extensions of say.

...I would like to arrange everything from here without returning to Australia if possible. Do I get another multiple entry non-imm "O" visa from a suggested Suvankhet in Loas...

Based on latest reports from members you should be able to get a new multiple-entry non-O visa at the Thai consulate in Savannkhet.

...as I do not want to deposit 400k into a bank account plus it wouldn't be there for the required two months...

Between now and December there are a lot more than two months to get the 400k Baht into a Thai bank account.

...and we happily live on 25k per month not 40k or as some have suggested an extension of stay based on marriage?...

On a marriage extension, you are not forced to spend 40k per month. You spend whatever you need and at least two months before the next application for extension you top up your bank account to have a balance of over 400k again.

...Someone suggested an ED-visa. Would this be easier?...

If you plan to go to Thai language classes or study something else, the non-ED visa is an option for you. With paperwork from the school you go to a Thai consulate in a neighbouring country, get a single-entry non-ED visa, then back in Thailand get repeated 90-day extensions of stay as long as you continue your studies.

Hi and thank you so much for answering my questions. It's very much appreciated. Regards

Do note that as you are married to a Thai national, you can always get a 60 day extension (once per entry), with nothing more to show then your marriage paperwork and your wife!

So with your last entry covering you till December, when that runs out you can get an additional 60 days without leaving Thailand at a cost of 1,900 Baht.

So basically at the moment you are OK till Feb 2014. Plenty of time to come up with 400,000 Baht and meet the 2 months seasoning rule.
