Yes BEANO2274 we have all the procedure about that! as well we know a compagny can do everything for us but not sure if it's a good idea or not? we think it's much beter if we doing everything by ourselves! I have for now a non emmigrant visa (B ) with work permit finishing in November so we would like to do all of that before! ( This is so unromantic!!lol) but it's better we gonna make a beautifull wedding later .. wub.png

Do it yourself is easier and a lot cheaper, you cannot go wrong.

What is more important is that the rules don't say that a Thai husband has to show any income. And that is also how it is in practice.

The rule doesn't mean that a Thai immigration officer can just self set a minimum amount a Thai husband should show.

ok , good to know the only thing is that we need to go to bangkok to give them the folder! the agency to everything for 8000thb but i don't know I wil go to the consulate in chiang mai to have all the details! :)

means? thai husband with a foreign wife does not have to show any income to support his wife?

Correct, a Thai husband with a foreign wife does not have to show any income for his wife to get an extension.

Sexist rules. One friend was retired, but under the age reqirement(?) and his wife (Thai) had an excellent salary, so there was no need for him to work, but his income was under the limit. YEP, serious hassles every year. Very definitely an unbalanced system.

You go to immigration in Chiang Mai not a consulate for the extension of stay. You can do it yourself and save the money.

For marriage you will need to visit your embassy to get a affirmation of permit to marry before you go to the Amphoe for registration of marriage. This will need to translated to Thai and then be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Edit: noticed on embassy website that there is a honorary french consulate in Chiang Mai they might be able to do the affirmation to marry.

And there is also a Thai Consular Department in Chaing Mai, (at the provicial hall, groudfloor), where they can legalise the affirmation letter. So no need to go to BKK.

In November you can then ask for an extension based on work or marriage.
