Extension of stay based on marriage, complicated?

Featured Replies

Need expert opinion on this one.

Here are the facts.

1..Extension of stay expires on Oct. 25, 2013 (9th. consecutive extension.)

2..I will be traveling out of the country from Oct. 8th until Oct. 15th.

3..I plan to book an appointment on Oct. 22nd. with CM immigration.

Also:

I will renew my passport next week and then have the extension of stay transferred into the new passport along with acquiring a re-entry permit for the out of country visit on Oct. 8 through the 15th.

Going in on Oct 22 is cutting it close. However I am well practiced with this and my documents will be in order on that day.

I believe I can go in up to 30 days early but this seems problematic given my travel plans.

Your opinion on the best curse of action is greatly appreciated.

Should be fine unless there is a delay on your return of more than a few days. But you can always restart with nothing more than an extra visa fee unless you are trying to obtain permanent residence and need the consecutive years for that (which if doing 9 years probably is not the case).

lopburi3,

Manny thanks .... this is not the first time you have helped me.

Sound like you have all your ducks in a row unless you get delayed, but I don't think you're cutting it too close. I think you'll be fine. Best of luck!
