Feel free to move this but couldnt see where else it might go.

Is the listing of marriages or divorces in the Public Domain in Bangkok ??

Inotherwards could I as a Foreigner obtain a list of marriages at a certain date in the past ?? Hope that makes sense ?? If it is available is it a case of turning up at the Offices holding some folding........??

Reckon if you catch the officers at the amphur who handle marriage registrations at a quiet moment and they're not too busy, they might be willing to go through the book to check out all who were married on that particular day. Would be a lot easier if you had a name to search for, that might be in the computer. Best to have it written in Thai.

And, yes, pretty much public, officially, but does depend on the cooperation of the staff.

I'm not adverse to paying out some money to make life easier ??

English, or any non-Thai language, can present a problem because of the multiple transliterations. Thai to English, then back to Thai. Sometimes it works, often not.

I've never paid a stang, just smiled a lot.

Someone who speaks nigh on fluent Thai has gone in on my behalf and in his own words completely ignored !!

I have no doubt he was extremely polite as well

Any other suggestions ??
